Part 3
PART 3In our next part we will now work in separate motifs, which will then be added to your previous main piece in part 4.
You will make 24 square motifs in total which will be 16 x the 2 colour motif (using G & F) and 4 x the 2 colour motif (using B & C), along with 4 x the 3 colour motif.

Special note: The colours are NOT carried along as in tapestry crochet but dropped and picked up again on the following round. Please note when picking up keep the tension loose to give the next stitch the right height.
Round 1: Using first color ch4, join with sl st, ch3 (counts as 1dc throughout), work the following into circle just made, 2dc, ch2, 3dc, ch1, join in second color by making 1ch, cont in second colour (don't worry about the first colour left behind, you will go back to this on Round 2), 3dc, 2ch, 3dc, 2ch, sl st to top of first 3ch, turn. 6 sts for each colour (not inc 2ch sp) 12 sts in total
Round 2: Cont using second color, sl st into ch-2 sp just made, ch3, 1dc in same ch sp, 1dc in each of next 3dc, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch sp, 1dc in each of next 3dc, 2dc in space between dc of first & second color, ch1, change to first color, ch1, 2dc in same space, 1dc in each of next 3dc, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in ch-2 sp, 1dc in next 3dc, 2dc in space between dc of first & second colors, ch2, sl st to top of ch-3, turn. 14 sts for each colour (not inc 2ch sp) 28 sts in total
Round 3: Cont using first color, sl st in ch-2 sp just made, ch3 & 1dc in same space, 1dc in each of next 7dc, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in ch-2 sp, 1dc in each of next 7dc, 2dc in space between dc of first & second colors, ch1, change to second color, ch1, 2dc in same space, 1dc in each of next 7dc, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch-2 sp, 1dc in each of next 7dc, 2dc in space between dc of first & second colors, ch2, sl st to top of ch-3. Fasten off. 22 sts for each colour; 11 sts per side (not inc 2ch sp) 44 sts in total
3 Color Motifs Make 4 using A, B & C where indicated.
Example of your 4 x motifs using A, B & C in ‘My Country Garden’.
Round 1: Using A ch4, join with sl st, ch3, work the following into circle just made, 2dc, (ch2, 3dc) 3 times, ch2, sl st to top of ch-3. Fasten off. 12 sts; 3 sts each side (not inc 2ch sp)
Round 2: Using B join yarn to any ch-2 sp, ch3, (1dc, ch2, 2dc) in same ch sp, * 1dc in each of next 3dc, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch-2 sp, rep from * twice more, 1dc in each of next 3dc, sl st to top of ch-3. Fasten off. 28 sts; 7 sts each side (not inc 2ch sp)
Round 3: Using C join yarn to any ch-2 sp, ch3, (1dc, ch2, 2dc) in same ch sp, * 1dc in each of next 7dc, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch-2 sp, rep from * twice more, 1dc in each of next 7dc, sl st to top of ch-3. Fasten off. 44 sts; 11 sts each side (not inc 2ch sp)
