The 30 Days of Prayer for the Muslim World is an international movement that began in 1993. It calls the church to make a deliberate but respectful effort to learn about, pray for and reach out to our world’s Muslim neighbors. It coincides annually with the important Islamic month of religious observation—Ramadan, a time of the year when Muslims are much more deeply aware of spiritual matters.
While Media sound bites about Islamic extremism can too easily incite anger, fear and even hatred towards Muslims, we seek to resist this temptation to generalize, and instead, resolve to respond and pray with the mind and heart of Christ.
Join the millions of Christians around the world and churches and ministries from many denominations who regularly participate in this largest ongoing prayer focus on the Muslim world. A new full-color prayer guide booklet—available each year in both adult and childrens versions—is a proven tool to help Christians to understand and to persistently pray for Muslim neighbors and nations.
It is not our intention with this prayer focus during Ramadan to disparage Islam or Muslim sentiments in
any way. We recognize that humans and the Muslim world are far too complex to simply condense or
explain with a mere booklet. However, at the same time, it is our sincere desire that Muslims the world
over would have the opportunity to freely understand and consider the Good News—Jesus Christ. Each
day, the booklet focuses on a specific issue or area of the Islamic world. As you read through it and pray,
you’ll gain a better understanding and a heart for Muslims which transcends the news headlines.
Trinity’s Missions Board encourages you again this year to join this adventure in prayer!
FREE Prayer Booklets available at Grand Central
FREE Children’s Version of the Prayer Booklets are
available through Trinity’s Children’s Department.

ALL COMMITTEE
NIGHT
Tuesday, May 28
7:00 pm
Trinity Fellowship Hall
The Trinity Church Council was called to order on March 19th by President Melodee Pedersen. Pastor Brandon led the recharge with an overview of Trinity’s Organizational Chart and the function(s) of each “Organization.” Minutes from the February Council Meeting and Financial Report were approved.
An update from the Call Committee was provided by Bill Curry and Melissa Ramaekers, representatives from the Call Committee, following Pastor Ollie’s visit and the Congregation Q&A, the Call Committee made a recommendation to continue the Call process to bring Pastor Ollie to Trinity. Following Council discussion, a ballot vote was cast. The Council voted in favor of presenting Pastor Oliver Fullmer to the Trinity Congregation to extend a Letter of Call as Associate Pastor. A Congregational Meeting is set for Sunday, April 7, immediately following the 10:30 am service.
The parsonage is currently on the market. The property has been shown several times with comments from potential buyers that the property is outdated and that the price is too high.
Options for staff to participate in a vision discount plan and AFLAC insurance were shared. The Trinity Church Council approved both the vision discount plan and AFLAC as benefits to the Trinity staff.
The current wedding policy indicating that weddings are not performed during the Lenten Season was revised to reflect that all weddings are scheduled at the Pastor’s discretion.
The meeting was adjourned and the Trinity Church Council joined together in prayer before departing.
The next Trinity Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 7:00 pm.

May Sermon Series!
Am hoping you have found one of life's most joyful and rewarding experiences: some faithful friends. When friends focus on pleasing the Lord, such a friendship is even more enriching because the Holy Spirit brings His power into that friendship.
Powerful friendships are marked by affirmation. We need encouragement when we're down, when we're under stress and even when things are going great. Encouragement gives strength, approval and courage. It frees us to do things we never dreamed of or thought impossible.
Encouragement can take many forms: appreciation for personal traits, sympathy in times of distress or sorrow, support to accomplish something thought impossible, thanks for favors or personal presence in time of need. This is vital; so much so that God established it as one of the spiritual gifts. Romans 12:8 says, "If it is encouraging, let him encourage …" Hebrews 3:13 tells us to "encourage one another daily."
Also, a close friend has earned the right and responsibility to hold us accountable for our actions. Who else will dare point out things that might be offensive or perhaps even flat out wrong? Our spouse, children or parents might, but a friend provides a totally different perspective. Yes, accountability is another important characteristic of a great friendship! Proverbs 31:26 indicates we should speak "with wisdom" and provide "faithful instruction.” We can't rush in correcting and exhorting all our acquaintances, or we would have no friends at all. We need to know a friend well enough to determine whether what we see is a small irritant or a deep-rooted problem or sin. A great friendship gives us teamwork in the spiritual battles of life.
A close friendship really needs to be reciprocal. Proverbs 27:6 reminds us, "The kisses of an enemy may be profuse, but faithful are the wounds of a friend." Similarly, Proverbs 15:12 advises us, "A mocker resents correction; he will not consult the wise." Although neither is easy, a close friend will give as well as receive correction with the (often unspoken) goal of building us up! Author John White once wrote, “One of the great pleasures of a close Christian friendship is the privilege of helping one another. We can find great satisfaction in caring for a friend in trouble or need.”
Helping and serving in a friendship gives us a wonderful sense of fulfillment. Most folks are not going to come right out and ask for help. Watch for clues that your friend is in need. The other side of helping is allowing ourselves to be helped. Us Americans want to be self-sufficient, but we need to rely, on as well, as serve one another. Allow yourself the surprising joy of being a blessing.
Growing friendships are ones in which we stimulate each other's spiritual growth. Just being able to hang out with someone and toss
around questions we have about Jesus or the Bible is special! I’m not talking about some formal teaching, just the joys of a close friendship in which two or more people discuss common interests in ordinary conversation and find the Lord present with them as they explore spiritual life together. The writer of Hebrews suggests: "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
May the Lord richly bless you with powerful friendships!

A Mother’s Prayer
Dear Lord, it’s such a hectic day, With little time to stop and pray,
For life’s been anything but calm, Since You called me to be a mom…
Running errands, matching socks, Building dreams with matching blocks,
Cooking, cleaning and finding shoes And all those things that young ones lose,
Fitting lids on bottled bugs, Wiping tears and giving hugs,
A stack of last week’s mail to read— So where’s the quiet time I need?
Yet as I go to bed each night, My heart is filled with true love’s light
As I take one last peek, I see, This treasure you have given me—
God’s own sweet blessing sleeping there, The answer to a Mother’s Prayer.
