PIG & PANEL: Focus on Alzheimer’s
More than five million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s — join AHUMC’s Methodist Men for some good food and real conversation about something no one can afford to ignore. All are invited to join a dinner and conversation hosted by the United Methodist Men on November 6 at 5:30 p.m. A pulled pork BBQ dinner will be served, and a variety of speakers from the community and our congregation will address this important topic. Donations will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. Please call 817.737.3161 to RSVP; child care provided with reservation.

Join us each week in The Yahweh Project — a 9-month emphasis in worship and study. We’ll explore questions such as: Who is this God that we worship? What does God provide for us? What does God expect of us? How do the stories from the Old Testament relate to our lives today?
From Bradley Alexander: I am so thankful for all of you. Because this church came together with our 11th Annual Pumpkin Patch, we sold more than $20,000 worth of pumpkins. With the proceeds, we will be able to fund a youth mission trip to Ardmore, Okla. I knew we could do this — and we did because we came together as a community. I thank you so much for all you did and continue to do in the name of Christ Jesus.
Holiday Basket Drive: Every year we gather with family and friends to celebrate and give thanks. For so many struggling financially, holiday traditions fall short. Won’t you help build a new memory for a family? Be a part of the change and support the United Community Centers’ Holiday Basket Drive. Pick up a flier at the Welcome Center to see how you can help. Mexico Mission Trip 2017: Are you interested in going to Acuna, Mexico, to build a home with Casas por Christo in March 2017? Join Rev. Allen Lutes at 9:30 a.m. November 6 in the Fellowship Hall to learn more about the spring adult mission trip.
Legacy Project: Would you like to be a part of telling the rich stories of AHUMC’s heritage? The Legacy Project will interview AHUMC members and tell their stories in biographical sketches. This is a delightful opportunity to get to know the people of our church. Come to an introductory training on Sunday, November 6, 2–4 p.m. For information contact Jane Melms or Carol Holze.
Blessing of Animals: Nov. 5Bring your animal companions to the front lawn at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 5, for a special Blessing of the Animals! Clergy will offer special blessings for your pet. This is a great inviting event — spread the word!

Welcome Megan Pritchard!
In mid-November, we will welcome Megan Pritchard as our new Director of Children’s Ministry! Megan is a recent graduate of the University of Oklahoma and is currently working with the Boys and Girls Club. She is a life-long member of New World UMC in Arlington. Megan will also serve as our on-site Communications Coordinator.
The Five & Two Food Truck allows AHUMC to be the church in our community. We serve hundreds each month with delicious meals — and love. You do not have to have a food handler’s license to volunteer — one of the greatest needs is for people to volunteer time to listen and be in fellowship with those who we serve. Contact Rev. Sunday Night: Trunk or Treat!
Come help us decorate the church bus as a MEGA trunk! And then stay to host kids from our church and neighborhood.
Wednesday Night Bible Study for students in grades 7–12, 6–7:30 p.m.Join us to Echo the Story. Come explore the Bible in a new way — through story telling, sketching, imagination, creative reflection, and dialogue.
The 21st Annual Holly Daze Bazaar Craft Show will be Saturday, November 12, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission is free to the craft fair, featuring 40 vendors with handcrafted seasonal and gift items. A light lunch will be served, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Home–baked breads, cookies, and sweets will also be available. Holly Daze is a project of AHUMC Handbell Ministry.
Join us for Gentle Yoga and Devotional Time: 9 a.m. Wednesdays in Room 354. Free.
Save the Date: Our annual church–wide Thanksgiving dinner will be Wednesday, November 16, at 6 p.m. The church will provide baked ham and rolls, you provide the sides and dessert.

Eleven members of AHUMC joined Trinity Habitat for Humanity in building a home on Saturday, October 22. Thank you to all who served!
