CHRISTMAS ANGELS ARE NEEDED EARLY THIS YEAR. Only three weeks after Thanksgiv- ing the school children will be dis- missed for the Christmas Holidays. You are invited to take an angel from the Narthex and make a young person happy this Christmas. We are partnering with the Community in Schools to provide gifts for chil- dren who need special attention. Pick an angel or more than one. Purchase the items. Box, but DO NOT WRAP them, or place in a gift bag. Securely attach the angel to the gift or attach a card that has the same information as the angel, including the number. Angel num- bers are very important to identify the child. Return the gifts to the tree by December 13. Mt. Vernon House Cookie Party Thursday, December 8 @ 2:00pm UMW will be serving cookies and punch to everyone at the Mt. Vernon House and having a Sing Along with SuFran playing the piano for us. I think that if each of you made 1 to 1 1/2 dozen cookies, it would be plenty. We have 10 of the residents who are diabetic so I will have some cookies just for them. SuFran has given me the list below of items that they need. There are 35 residents. She has requested no gloves or socks this year. Please have any donations to me by Dec. 4th so that the bags can be assembled. You can leave them at the church office for me to pick up or I will be happy to come by and pick them up at your home. I will be out of town on Dec. 4 but will check with the church office on Monday, Dec. 5. I want to thank each and every one of you for sharing this happy time with everyone at Mt. Vernon House. They really enjoy it!!!! Items Needed: Kleenex Paper Towels Hand Towels Lotion Tooth Paste Wednesday Bible Study You are invited to join Pastor Stephen at 10:00 am on Wednesday mornings in room 101. Bring your Bible and join the discus- sion on scripture to be featured in the next Sunday’s sermon. Room 101 is across the hall from the church office.

christmas StoreThe Christmas Store is coming on December 8 and 9. We are collecting new or gently used clothing, shoes and coats for babies-teens. Also needed are gently used toys and books. We can use a limited number of household goods and Christmas décor. Please check before donating these items. Our space is somewhat limited. Also needed are small items (gently used) the children can select as gifts for their parents or guardians (jewelry, gloves, scarves, wallets, small tools, cologne etc. ) and small gift bags. The store usually serves around 70 families and over 200 children. Each child can receive an outfit and hoodie. Shoes and coats are limited depending on how many are available. Contact Susan Sample 903-466-3346 with questions.

If you could help out once a month or so, please con-tact Ellen Leslie at 903-537-2448 or the church

office at 903-537-3616.
