It’s been a little more than a month since we closed on the land to our north. You’ve already noticed a few little developments to get it ready for parking. The city will be acting on a road-closing in September that will free us up to get busy on the bigger work. It’s exciting.
We mentioned when we voted on purchasing this land that we would have some kind of capital campaign in the fall. We’ve done two of them in the past: one to raise money for the Family Life Center, and another one to raise money for the sanctuary. We hired consultants to help us with those campaigns. We are not going to hire a consultant for this one.
We are calling it All In! The parking expansion will allow us to get all in who come to be us. We want all members to participate in giving over and above their tithes to pay this off. And we want all members to do the very best they can as they seek and depend on God to show them the way. All In! We’ll be asking you to commit to give over a two-year period whatever amount God puts on your heart. We’ve seen the financial miracles God does when we honor Him in this way. I look forward to seeing more miracles and hearing more testimonies of God’s faithfulness and power. More information will be released soon, but please begin praying now for God to do a great thing among us as we get All In!
This Sunday we begin a new series in worship: Buried Treasure: Uncovering Our Priorities. A new school year is a time to readjust our priorities. Too many times we do so with little thought to God’s will in the matter. So often we say we prioritize one thing but really settle for a lesser thing. We’ll be exploring this matter in this new series. Please be prayerful and in your place as we seek God’s will in our lives. Invite others. God could do some real transformation in our lives over these next few Sundays. This Sunday we’ll talk about the buried treasure that’s best put at the heart of every priority we set. See you Sunday.

There will be NO CONNECT GROUPS for youth (grades 7th-12th) Sunday, August 30. Instead, youth will be meeting at Behind the Mall Cinema for a private screening and discussion of The War Room (there is no cost to students) as we prepare for a new school year. Arrive between 8:40-9:00am; parents/caregivers pick up stu-dents after church is over (pick up approx. 11:45). If you have ques-tions or need more information, please see Bill.

FBC 101 is a great opportunity for new members and prospective members to learn who First Baptist Church is, where we’ve come from, what we believe, what we value, how we function, and where we’re going. In this special church-wide version of the class, ALL church members—especially minis-try LEADERS—can understand more about the culture and vision of our church. Dea-cons, Connect Group leaders, men’s and women’s ministry leaders, choir and orchestra members, mission team members, and any kind of servant leader can become more effective in their role when they understand how our church fits together and accom-plishes its mission. Teenagers and older children will enjoy this experience as well. Childcare is available for younger children.

Attention all golfers, hackers, and duffers: Hot Springs Baptist Church is hosting a charity golf tournament with proceeds to benefit While We’re Waiting, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to
bring bereaved parents together in order to provide a faith-based network of encouragement and support as they grieve the loss of their children. Their goal is to point grieving parents to the only true source of comfort, Jesus Christ, bringing glory to God in the process.

Loving Threads Ministry If you like to knit, crochet, quilt or sew, the Loving Threads Ministry may be the place for you. The purpose of our group is to use our needlework talents to share the love and com-
fort of Jesus Christ with others by making prayer comfort shawls and ba-by blankets. We are now meeting in RM 131 on the 1st floor, at 1:00 p.m. on the FOURTH Thursday of each month. If you cannot attend the meetings, but would like to participate, call Wanda Thorp, 623-5608.
