Another thing that you don’t learn in school is accepting your destiny. Some

people can’t or won’t except destiny and may make their lives worse than they would

have if they had accepted their destiny. In the book LoL Michael just wants to go back to

his normal life of being a doctor, which he thought was his destiny, and living in the real

world. Since his encounter with the Prophet his life can never go back to normal until he

fulfills his true destiny of defeating the Prophet. If everyone accepted their destiny the

world would be a much different place. Michael accepted his destiny as a chosen one by

God to stop the Prophet A.K.A. “The Liar” and got his life back to normal.

Finally, something you don’t learn in school is how others shape your opinions.

There has never been a class that I have walked into where the teacher said “how do

others shape your opinions?” Though your opinions can change in school through class

discussions that question can’t be explained because it just happens as a result of your

experiences. The question is something that doesn’t need to be answered; it can be

referenced for writing an essay and connecting a book. The question is a tool that will

help you open up a discussion and better explain an idea. In the book LoL other

characters shape Michael’s opinion of God and faith. He hasn’t really believed in God

that much until the Prophet enters his world and starts to perform miracles that seem

impossible. Healing people with a touch of his hand and walking on air. The other major

character that influenced Michael’s faith in God was Rabbi Solomon who tells him that

he has been given a gift from God similar to the Prophets powers. Michael had been a

cynic for along time but his experiences slowly started to change his opinion.



In conclusion it is true that you may learn a lot from school and in the workplace

but that doesn’t mean that you’re going to learn everything that you need to live a

successful and happy life. You need to open your eyes to every possibility and hopefully

you will solve your problems and also learn about yourself and the others that you

surround yourself with.
