SUMMIT OF CHEAP LASER GRAPHICS 2016 call for participation

NEW PLACE - NEW DISCOVERY

The Summit of Cheap Laser Graphics is an event which brings together creative people from the fields of design, illustration, comics and architecture with the goal to promote and establishdesign and related media outside the market system.

The Summit of Cheap Laser Graphics is organized by the TURBO-TOMORROW Art Collective form Belgrade.

CONCEPT OF THE EVENT“THE TRUTH ABOUT THE LASER SUMMIT”Each of the invited artists participates with one or more of their graphics.The graphics are printed on a laser printer, on plain 80gram office paper.Each of the participants has to fill in a questionnaire which deals with the issues of social and economic status of designers/artists, social and political awareness, as well as the specific aspects of the creative process and the lifestyle of designers/artists.

All the graphics shall be exhibited in the AMI space accompanied by the completed questionnaires.

The exhibited graphics can be bought “on the spot” for the price of 1 Euro, regardless of the author of the work; thus anyone can take home a piece of art at a minimum price.

All the income from the graphics’ sales shall be used for the purpose of issuing a publication which shall stand as a kind of testimony that the event ever took place.

NEW PLACE - NEW DISCOVERY/ motivational text:Note: the subject is open, only the sky is the limit. Subheading of the event (“NEW PLACE - NEW DISCOVERY”) can serve as additional inspiration. Also, your work does not have to be particularly made for this exhibition; recycling is healthy!

As soon as we stand on our on feet we start moving in various directions even without knowing where are we actually going. With this joy of pure motion comes a joy of discovering new places and things. For creatives from all the fields this notion of discovery and motion continues. Running into unknown, experimenting and searching for new experiences and ideas is a part of every day routine. Sometime its not easy, and sometimes it happens by acci-dent. One thing is for sure with moving we go out from our comfort zone and provoke something to happen. Therefore we propose this opportunity for you to try knew things or to share some of yours previous discovery's. (we support recycling). Sharing our experienc-es is the way to new better places.

Exhibition will be opend in AMI new place in Friche la Belle de Mai on december 09. in 2016. at 18h.

TECHNICAL INFORMATIONIf you wish to participate in the Laser Summit, pleaseSEND US THE FOLLOWING:

1. A PIECE OF YOUR (ART)WORKTechnique: black and white, grain, without grey tones – no photographs allowed!All the technically unsuitable works shall be branded at the exhibition!The work surface should be vertical, dimensions 15x21cm.

2. YOUR SIGNATUREThe work shall be placed on an A4 format paper, with the author’s signature in the lower right-hand side corner, while the left-hand side corner shall feature an impressed seal, the unique certificate of the event

3. A COMPLETED QUESTIONNAIREEnclosed is a questionnaire, which you should fill in and send to us together with your work and signature.Note: You can also fill in the questionnaire directly in Acrobat Reader, or any other way you wish, and send it to us in electronic form.

4. INFORMATION ABOUT YOURSELFIn addition to your work, signature and the questionnaire, you should send us the following information:- Your active email addresses- The Internet address of your website, blog or any kind of web presentation (behance, flickr!...)

THE DEADLINE FOR WORK SUBMISSION: Thursday 08.12.2016Please, confirm your participation by saterday 03.12.2016 so we can plan the exhibition installation.

ADDITIONAL NOTE:Each invitation e-mail has been sent carefully to designers’ addresses, so there won’t be any subsequent selections of works. The work you send us, provided it complies with the basic technical propositions, shall be the one exhibited.

COPYRIGHT:The received works remain the inalienable property of their authors. The works shall be used for the purposes of realizing the Summit of Cheap Laser Graphics exhibition, the promotion of the project and publicized issues of the project. All rights remain the property of the authors!
