HIGHLIGHTS

Our prestigious line-up of thought leaders delivered key speeches whichset the scene for a series of interactive discussions and in-depth debateson a wide range of topical and relevant subjects:

n technology developmentn project financen supply chain creationn the generation of cheap, sustainable clean energyn vehicle electrificationn the challenges of integrating clean energy into the world's

energy infrastructure.

The Roundtable Day discussion 'Climate Finance and Energy Access' was hosted in association with UN-Energy and the UN Foundation. Here we addressed two key challenges; how to ensure future globalfinancing mechanisms work with, rather than against, the grain of thecapital markets; and how to ensure that capital makes its way to smallerdistributed solutions as well as to larger projects - an essential requirementto bringing 1.4bn people into the modern energy world.

The fourth annual Summit, our second since New EnergyFinance became a part of Bloomberg, took place earlier thisyear in New York. Over 500 thought leaders and invited guestsconvened in the ornate surroundings of New York’s Pierre Hotelfor a series of fascinating debates and interactive sessions. Theabiding message was that developments (particularly intechnology and in the spread of clean energy to developingcountries) are taking place at a speed and in a direction thatare not yet appreciated by the wider energy industry.

I enjoyed the Summittremendously and found

the format very interactive.Much better than watchingPowerPoint presentations

all day long...
