Frontier Middle School PTA Summer Reading Challenge 2017
Welcome to our Summer Reading Challenge 2017!! NOTE: Prizes are per grade level!!!
Each grade level has the same set of rewards to try & win!
Grand Prize (Challenge Assignment): Kindle Fire HD8 Tablet with Alexa ~ 32GB In addition student will receive a charger, screen protector & micro SD card for up to 200GB of storage! Additional Rewards with Reading Slips: Each reading log slip allows you to select the prize you wish to win! Rewards are listed on the slip, just check the box of the one you want to win. Remember each grade level has a set of rewards ~ therefore your chances of winning are based on the students who read in your grade level.
Rewards for Reading Slips include:
• Gift Cards from iTunes, Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Panera Bread, Regal Movies and Starbucks. 2 tickets to Shea’s, 2 tickets to Sabres Game, 2 tickets to Bandits Game, Fitbit and standard Kindle.
How it works:
FIRST: Pick a book/author to read off the Recommended Reading List for your grade level. Summer Reading lists are attached, but can also be found at http://www.buffalolib.org/content/all-about-reading/summer-reading-list. Can’t find a book that interests you on this list? No problem! Read ANY grade appropriate book that has been parent approved!
NEXT: Read between July 1 and September 15 and complete the attached assignment. Turn in the Challenge Assignment to your Homeroom teacher by September 15th. Students may complete more than one Challenge Assignment to earn extra entries for the Kindle Fire with Alexa tablet
IN ADDITION: Read more books and fill out the reading log slips. After the Challenge Assignment book has been read (or multiple books if completing more than one Challenge Assignment) the student can read more books and fill out the reading log slips. Each slip equals 50 pages of reading and earns them one entry into a reward of their choice – just check the box. Hand in the slips by September 15th to your Homeroom teacher. The more you read the more chances you have.
