Grand Knight’s Message By Joe Risi

Brother Knights:

Because it was decided to publish an abbreviated newsletter for the months of July and August, I am listing the names below of the Officers for the fraternal year 2011/2012.

Our focus for this year will be “Fraternity and Membership Growth”. To accomplish this, a program, with emphasis on Social, Spiritual and Service activities is planned. One of our first social and fundraiser events is a 6

night cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas, which will depart on January 29, 2012. Twenty four (24) cabins have already been sold and $50 for each cabin sold will be donated to the Knights. Come cruise with your Brother Knights, and have some fun. For info, call 340-1600 and ask for the Knights of Columbus Cruise.

Additionally, a Corporate Communion Mass for all Knights and their family is scheduled for July 31st, at 9:00 AM. Come celebrate your Faith with your Bother Knights.

I look forward to seeing you at our meetings every 4th Thursday of each month. If you are unable to attend, I encourage you to come to the Corporate Mass and/or participate in our activities. A schedule of activities will be published each month in this newsletter.

Our Lady of Fatima Assembly #3090

By Faithful Navigator Tony Longo

UNITY PATRIOTISM SPIRITUALITY

Brother Knights,

Rev Theodore J LeTure priest and Brother Knight, who was a founding

member of Council 13047, passed on July 3, 2011. Our Brother Knights and Color Corp

showed respect and attended the viewing on Friday night and the Memorial Mass on Saturday,

at St Elizabeth Ann Seton. Bishop Barbarito attended the Mass and as usual recognized the

Knights of Columbus and the Color Corp.

Let's not forget our homeless Vets food drive on July 30 and July 31st. We need the Color Corp

to fallout in full regalia to greet and thank the parishioners at all Masses. The Third Degree is

having Corporate Communion at the 9:00 Mass on July 31st. Let's support one another.

Father Ulto requested the Color Corp to fall out on Sunday, September 11, 2011, at the

10:45Mass. More info at our next meeting, Aug 4th

at 7:00PM.

Please pray for our troops and all Brother Knights. Our Country is a gift of God.

Sir Knight Tony Longo

Faithful Navigator

Columbiettes

By President Mary Paglione

Let me start off with One Hundred Thousand Thanks to all the members who

participated in our Installation of Officers on June 29th. Special thanks go

out to our previous District Deputy Mary Bishop, who has served us

graciously for the past two terms and Eleanor Robinson, our newly

appointed District Deputy for presenting us with such a beautiful Installation

Ceremony. The reception following the Installation was spectacular to say

the least. The refreshments prepared by the Columbiette members were scrumptious. The help

from our Brother Knights who donated and served the liquid refreshments also made the

evening enjoyable. It looks like we are off to a good start.

All who attended the Sunday Brunch on the 17th of July at Pietro's on the River will attest to

the fact that it was a delightful way to spend a beautiful, sunny afternoon, and if anyone did not

have enough to eat it was their own fault. I thank everyone who attended, especially Marilyn

Suriano, for coordinating the ticket sales and Anna Di Giacomo and Mimi Spagno for handling

the Pot of Gold raffle. This was just a start of a fruitful and friendly year for our members and

friends.

Next month I will have more information on projects that we will endeavor to undertake for the

coming year. I wish each and every member a continued season of happiness

Keep Well and God Bless.
