is dedicated to challenging students to achieve excellence in academic, artistic and athletic disciplines. Exciting and innovative classes are offered to meet the needs of junior high and high school women. Programs of concentrated study are offered for high school academic credit, allowing the student to pursue interests in a way not possible during the regular school year. The University of California approves some of the classes offered during the summer. Short intensive classes are also offered for non-credit.

Mayfield Senior School, founded by the Society of the Holy Child Jesus and a member of the Holy Child Network of Schools, shares in the Society’s mission “to help others to believe that God lives and acts in them and in our world, and to rejoice in the divine presence.” Mayfield is a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school for young women. Mayfield offers an education with distinctive spirit, grounded in the educational philosophy and spirituality of Cornelia Connelly, who founded the Society of the Holy Child Jesus in England in 1846.

Mayfield is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, the California Association of Independent Schools and the College Entrance Examination Board. Mayfield admits students of any race, color, religion, and national or ethnic origin.

Located at the edge of Pasadena’s Arroyo Seco, the 7.75 acre campus (formerly the John Eagle estate) provides Mayfield with one of the most beautiful secondary school campuses in Southern California. Its location provides convenient access to the Pasadena, Ventura and Foothill Freeways.

Mayfield Summer Sports Camps are designed to provide the student/athlete with a foundation of fundamental skills, knowledge, character and leadership development and a love of athletics. Recognizing that while skills and drills are critical to the improvement of the athlete, making sports FUN is essential to developing the “passion for the game.”

Our multi sports camps offer a cross training to not only help develop overall athleticism, but keep sport fresh and exciting.

Please Note: Participation in any of the sum-mer athletic classes does not guarantee a place on a MSS team. All students must try out each year to earn a place on a team.

To participate in any summer sports program, a current physical and medical release form must be on file in the Athletic office. Forms may be downloaded from iMSS.

Academic CreditNot all courses are offered for academic credit. If a student is taking a course for academic credit, she may request on the registration form that the transcript of course work be mailed to the designated school. Mayfield students will have the course credit added to their transcripts

automatically. Incoming ninth grade students will receive academic credit for Introduction to Experimental Science (IES) only.

Financial AidAvailable to incoming and returning Mayfield Senior School students only Mayfield Senior School is committed to supporting a financial aid program for students who would like to take part in the summer program but lack sufficient financial resources to meet the full tuition costs. Need-based financial aid will be awarded to incoming and returning Mayfield Senior School students. In order to qualify for tuition assistance, families must demonstrate financial need.

Please contact Clemmie Phillips, Director of Summer Institute, for information about Financial Aid.

Dress CodeDress is casual yet appropriate for school (e.g. shorts, T-shirts, jeans, etc.). Students are expected to use good judgment in their choice of clothing. No bare midriffs, short shorts, or short skirts.

Off-Campus PolicyIf a student drives herself, she may leave for lunch or when her class is over. Otherwise, students are not allowed to leave campus for lunch or for any other reason without adult supervision or parental permission.
