Welcome to our Summer Half Term 2013 Holiday Club & Activity Courses at Clifton College! We are very pleased to again offer a range of enjoyable and fun opportunities in a stimulating and creative environment for children and young people aged 3-13 years. Our delivery, as always, will be to the highest professional standards. Please book early to avoid disappointment. Rob Webber Holiday Club & Activity Course Manager Minis Dates: Tuesday 28th – Friday 31st May Time: 1000–1600 (Early Play from 0800, Stay & Play until 1800) Age: 3–4 years Price: £35 (per day) £19 (per half day) Registration: Butcombe Classrooms, The Avenue BS8 3EZ Minis Holiday Club is a service registered for 3–4 year old children. We provide a stimulating and creative environment for young children during the holidays. Qualified and experienced staff will support children to engage in age-appropriate activities with particular attention paid to personal development, interaction with others and, most importantly, fun! Minis should bring a packed lunch each day

Juniors Dates: Dates: Tuesday 28th – Friday 31st May Time: 1000–1600 (Early Play from 0800, Stay & Play until 1800) Age: 5–7 years Price: £35 (per day) £19 (per half day) Registration: Bretten Memorial Hall, Northcote Road BS8 3HE Junior activities are designed specifically with 5–7 year olds in mind. Swimming is an important and enjoyable part of each daily programme with other activities, led by experienced staff, the emphasis is on promoting individual development and, of course, fun. We believe it is important that children are able to pursue interests and develop skills through a range of activities and opportunities. Juniors should bring a packed lunch each day.

Junior Courses Junior Forest Fun Morning Course Date: Thursday 30th May Price: £20 Age: 5–7 years Time: 0915–1230 A fantastic opportunity to enjoy outdoor exploration of the landscape. A variety of exciting age specific creative activities linked to the great outdoors will make this morning session rewarding and enjoyable. Please note that children will travel by minibus to our forest school site at Clifton College Sports Ground, Abbots Leigh with qualified staff. Children will require outdoor clothes, wet weather gear and a change of footwear. There is a slightly earlier registration time of 0915 for this half day course to allow for travel.

Kids’ Club Dates: Tuesday 28th – Friday 31st May

Time: 1000–1600 (Early Play from 0800, Stay & Play until 1800) Age: 8-13 years Price: £35 (per day) £19 (per half day) Registration: Clifton College Sports Centre, Guthrie Road BS8 3EZ The typical Kids’ Club day includes a wide variety of activities that 8–13s enjoy. A freetime Swimming session is a very popular part of each morning’s activities. The other three main daily activity sessions are designed with varying interest and ability groups in mind and children can choose from a number of themed afternoon activities that take place both indoor and outdoor around Clifton College Sports Centre. Throughout our programme we promote self expression, confidence building and, of course, fun by offering as much choice as possible. Lunch in Clifton College dining hall in included although children can bring their own packed lunch if required.

8–13 Years Activity Courses Registration: The following Cookery, Archery, Cricket and Football courses will register in the Sports Centre at 0945 and conclude at 1600. Cookery Course Date: Tuesday 28th May Chocodelicious – cocoa brownies, pizza, raspberry and m&m ice cream milkshake Price: £40 including lunch This one day popular, hands-on course promises to be both informative and rewarding. Sweet and savoury recipes will be tried and tested with the results taken home for the family to enjoy. Under close supervision, kitchen hygiene and safety will also be touched upon.

Note children should wear old clothes and bring suitable storage containers to take food home. Archery Course Date: Wednesday 29th May Price: £40 including lunch Children should wear clothing appropriate to the weather on the day Under professional instruction at our new outdoor range at Clifton College Sports Ground, Abbots Leigh, these days offer a great opportunity for archers of all abilities including those wishing to try this great Olympic sport for the first time. Expert tuition combining a range of fun games and competitions will improve technique and have you hitting the gold in no time. Note that this course will take place off-site with children travelling by minibus

Cricket Academy 9s+ Course Date: Thursday 30th May

Price: £38 including lunch Age: 9-13 years A superb opportunity for the developing player to get some top quality instruction and guidance from professional coaches. Modern coaching techniques will be applied through a series of games and matches geared towards improving technical and tactical skills in batting, bowling and fielding. Please note this is a hard ball course. Bristol Pro Soccer Tournament Day Course Date: Friday 31st May Price: £38 including lunch Soccer Tournament Day promises to be packed full of the usual fun, skills, nail-biting excitement and spectacular goals. Run by professional coaches, teams are chosen on the day and everyone can look forward to several matches in the morning and afternoon competitions. A fantastic course for all football fans! Please note football kit, a change of footwear and shin pads are required.

8–13 Years Activity Courses at Clifton College Sports Ground, Abbots Leigh, BS8 3QD Registration: The following Hockey and Tennis courses will register at Clifton College Sports Ground, Abbots Leigh at 0945 and conclude at 1600. Please note that only a limited Early and Late service is available at this site. Children can be dropped off from 0830 and must be collected by 1730. Hockey Academy Course Date: Tuesday 28th May Price: £38 including lunch Using top quality Clifton College Astroturf playing surfaces, our qualified coaches will use a variety of training drills and techniques as well as small-sided matches to maximise fun and learning. Players will be split into groups at the start of the course for a structured day that supports both the beginner and more experienced club player. Players should bring their own stick and gum shield although we do have a supply of sticks for players to borrow if required. Tennis Academy Course Date: Wednesday 29th May Price: £38 including lunch This course will be led by qualified LTA coaches with many years experience of playing and coaching. Aimed at the beginner right through to the more competent player, group classes will be split and appropriate court size and ball type will be used. Emphasis will be on the techniques involved with groundstrokes, net play and serve. Plenty of tennis development in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere.
