On behalf of Community Enrichment Fitness Network (CEFN), we hope you are enjoying your summer. We trust that you are taking time out of your busy lives to get some much needed R&R. CEFN had a wonderful spring with two successful inaugural events. Our health and wellness programs will be on hiatus this summer. It is hard to believe that 2015 is halfway over. Time flies when you are having fun! So far, 2015 has been an excellent year for CEFN. We started off by hosting our inaugural Natural Healing and Holistic Health Fair on Saturday, April 18 th . Then, we kept the momentum going by hosting our inaugural Healthy Living Senior Gala on Friday, June 12 th . These events were met with overwhelmingly positive feedback from our attendees (See pages 2&3), which has encouraged us to begin the planning process for 2016 in an effort to make them bigger and better next year. This summer, CEFN will work on re-launching our Nutrition Awareness and Healthy Cooking Demonstration Project, tentatively scheduled for this October in West Philadelphia. We successfully launched this project last October at Opportunities Towers Senior Housing. The seniors learned the fundamentals of making healthier food choices by developing shopping lists, reading nutritional labels, and planning and preparing healthy meals. At the end of the 4-week program, participants received certificates of completion, had a healthy potluck luncheon, and were encouraged by State Senator Shirley Kitchen to continue their healthy eating/living journey. CEFN will tape the ninth season of our Focus on FitnessTV show this fall. The theme will be heal thyself. Season nine will focus on ways individuals can prevent onset of chronic diseases, and improve their overall health and wellbeing. We hope to begin filming in late September or early October. Stay tuned for details on when season nine will air on Verizon FiOS channels 29/30 and Comcast Cable channels 66/966 on Fridays at 10 a.m. Many, many thanks to CEFN’s friends, supporters and sponsors who have helped to make 2015 a successful year thus far! Our success is due to your ongoing support, encouragement and prayers. To God be the Glory!
