Mission StatementThe Department of Community Services provides high-quality recreational, educational, electoral, human services and other services in partnership with the Gwinnett community.
Conservation StatementGwinnett County Department of Community Services established its environmental sustainability initiative, focusing on recycling, resource protection and conservation. Recognizing that a healthy environment plays a vital role in creating a sustainable community where people want to live, work, and play, the department has taken action and developed conservation programming to ensure effective stewardship for today and future generations.
SPLOST Success – Pennies for parksIn 2016 Gwinnett County voters approved the renewal of the Special Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST). First approved in 1996, the one-cent sales tax is essential in preserving green space and natural resources in Gwinnett County.This funding has provided many new trails, playgrounds, sports fields, aquatic centers and gymnasiums to improve the quality of life for Gwinnett's citizens.

Holiday ClosingsFacilities will be closed 5/28/18 in observance of Memorial Day and 7/4/18 in observance of Independence Day, with the exception of pools.
Fee Policy Non-Gwinnett resident's fee is double for all drop-in activities and activities under $20, $20 maximum. All class registrations and rentals will incur a $1 processing fee.
Camp Refund Policy Written withdrawal requests received more than fourteen (14) days prior to the start of camp will receive a refund, minus a $50 processing fee or an amount equal to half of their total camp fee (whichever is less). No refunds will be issued for requests made less than fourteen (14) days prior to the start of camp. Camp Payment Plan Fee ($50) and Transaction Fee is non-refundable and non-transferable and cannot be issued as a credit toward any class, program, or event.

The 411Schools out! Campers want to have fun and their parents want to have confidence
knowing what their kids are doing during their days off.
We offer fun and exciting full-day, week long general day camps. Our Full Day Adventure Camps are specifically designed so that 5 and 6 year old campers are in the Junior Adventure Camp while 7 – 13 year olds are in the Adventure Camps. Both of these fun and exciting camps feature general recreation activities and games with a thematic twist! A $50 per week, non-refundable deposit,
paid by phone or in-person, holds your child’s spot. Just pay the balance one week prior.
Our facilities also host several stimulating Partial Day Special Interest Camps with a variety of hours specializing in specific activities such as sports, technology, art, dance,
drama, history, nature studies, and science, which are led by contracted instructors. We offer half-day morning camps at select locations for preschool age.
Play with a PurposeWe want our campers to play with a purpose, so we encourage campers to branch out and learn new things. Special guests share their skills and knowledge to enhance the campers’ experience and enrich the week’s theme. The emphasis is on learning,
personal improvement, and satisfaction.
Staff and SafetyOur highly-skilled camp staff and instructors play a key role in making our camps safe, fun, and exciting. All of our counselors and specialized instructors undergo background checks, CPR and first aid certification, and extensive training in curriculum, behavior management, and age-appropriate activities to ensure a quality experience.
SafetyParents can feel safe knowing their kids are in our care, and kids are excited about
playing and learning. We provide a safe environment for physical, social, and educational experiences. Campers and activities are always supervised by trained counselors or
specialized instructors, and our strict sign-in and sign-out policies keep our camps safe.
Attention At our camps, kids get plenty of interaction with our low counselor to camper ratio
– one of the best camper-to-staff ratios around! Our campers receive individual and small group instruction in a variety of activities as they build confidence and increase
skill levels. Our staff is here because they enjoy working with children to help them reach their potential.
Health and Wellness Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) Standards are implemented in our
camp activities. Our staff educates campers on proper nutrition and being physically active. While at camp, campers are challenged to adopt healthy habits which include drinking more
water, limiting screen time, eating more fruits and vegetables, and increasing their time s pent being active.
Top-Notch FacilitiesCampers have a blast in our cool and comfortable gyms, recreation centers, game rooms, and aquatic facilities! Plus, kids love exploring the outdoors on our wooded trails, playgrounds, and picnic areas encouraging them to embrace environmental responsibility.
Enrichment Campers’ growth and expanding interests are important steps in their self-
discovery. Our days at camp are jam-packed with physical education, water play, arts and crafts, age-specific small group games, music, large group games, social skills, hands-
on activities, learning, and outdoor exploration – that’s why every day is an adventure!

Originally built in 1855 this historic building was first used as a finishing school for the county’s young women. After being destroyed by fire, it was reconstructed in 1855 and was later converted into a ‘civic center’ for community activities, and at one time, housed a local radio station! It houses the Gwinnett History Museum, with exhibits relating to early Gwinnett County farming, textiles, schools, and more!

This former cotton farm is relatively unchanged since its drawing in the 1820 land lottery. In the early 1900s, it was a thriving farm. Quick Start Tennis is an exciting play format for learning tennis, designed to bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size. Children must be of age at the time the class begins, tennis shoes required, but rackets and balls are provided. Red ball=15% larger and travel/bounce 75% slower than regular tennis ball Orange ball=bounce/travel 50% slower than regular tennis ball Courts are first come, first served for walk-up play, unless rented/permitted.
