SUMMER / AUTUMN 2020
We are pleased to present this CAI Education Course Catalogue, Summer / Autumn 2020 edition to you. Contained herein is a comprehensive list of every educational opportunity provided by the Pennsylvania & Delaware Valley Chapter of CAI for the second half of 2020.
In July, the chapter Board of Directors voted to make the remaining events in our 2020 calendar virtual. With the exception on the Mary Ann McNulty Memorial Golf Classic, all educational and networking events for the remainer of the year will be conducted virtually. We appreciate your understanding and support during this challenging time.
While every effort has been made to ensure accuracy in the catalogue, unforeseen circumstances may occasionally necessitate a change in the information provided. We strongly encourage you to always confirm program information on our website, as this will always contain the most current and up-to-date information.
All of the educational courses hosted by CAI are approved by the Community Association Managers International Certification Board (CAMICB) to fulfill continuing education requirements for the CMCA® certification. Each completed course will earn community managers a minimum of one (1) continuing education credit hour, which also helps satisfy the requirements to apply for the PCAM designation.
To register to attend any program, visit us on the web at: www.cai-padelval.org. For group registrations, please contact the chapter office toll-free at: 1.877.608.9777.

How to Protect the Board and
Association From Liability
Presenter
David Dahan, Esq. Hyland Levin Shapiro LLP
Learn the formalities
of how to conduct
yourself as a member
of the board. You now wear two
hats - one as an owner and one as a
board member. While you may have
good intentions to make the
community a better place to live,
liability can be lurking around the
corner if you do not have a good
team in place, follow the governing
documents and law and manage the
association as a non-profit busi-
ness. Oh, and that liability may be
personally against you!

Beyond Routine Maintenance: Roadmap to a Successful Building Envelope Restoration Program
Presenter Allen Roth, PE Joseph B. Callaghan, Inc.
Building envelope damage and water intrusion can cause major disruptions to a condominium's
residents, staff, and maintenance team. When the building envelope damage is beyond routine maintenance and becomes a potential public safety concern, a restoration program greatly benefits and protect the building's investment. There are several key factors to consider when developing a successful building envelope restoration program. Finalizing a comprehensive budget-sensitive program can be challenging and requires a knowledge of the in-situ building envelope
construction. The goal of the presentation is to educate facility managers on various façade building materials, their behavior, and the importance of proper system interface.
