* Techniques from “Repetition – Past Lives, Life, and Rebirth” by Doris Eliana Cohen. Summary of the 7 Steps of Rebirth Using the 7 Steps of Rebirth stops us from automatically reacting to situations as a traumatized, frightened child and instead lets us access our calm, accepting adult self. It allows us to heal by giving us a way to reassure our child self that he or she no longer has to take on an adult role; and empowers our adult self to make better, healthier choices for ourselves. Setp 1: Stop! Say “Stop” aloud or silently and visualize a red stop sign. Setp 2: Breathe. Inhale deeply through the nose, hold the breath to a count of four, or four seconds; then exhale slowly through the mouth (the exhale is longer than the inhale). While inhaling, relax your shoulders. While exhaling, drop your jaw and breathe out slowly ad evenly with a “Haaaaa” sound. Remember not to cross your arms or legs, and keep your facial muscles relaxed. Step 3: Acknowledge – “Whoops, there I go again!” Affirm that you’re the author of your story. The statement “Whoops, there I go again!” will help you acknowledge your story without judgment or criticism. Step 4: Get a number. Let your unconscious mind reveal to you a significant number that represents your age when a trauma occurred. If it’s greater than 10, go ahead and identify what events took place when you were that age, but then repeat Steps 1-3 and allow your unconscious mind to find another number, this time between 0 and l0. This is going to be the age of the child whom the adult will be meeting and healing in the next step. Step 5: Meet the child. Create a magical nature scene (make ensure that it contains one non-threatening Water Body like spring, lake etc..) where you meet your child self, giving him or her love and reassurance, remembering to call on loving Angels of the Light. Step 6: Separate from the child. Reassure the child that he or she is safe, sound, and loved; then detach yourself, leaving him or her in the safety of the magical scene. Step 7: Return to the present as an adult. State your name, your age, your location, and the year in order to come back to the present and your adult self feeling alert, refreshed, revived, and replenished.

Summary of the 7 Steps of Rebirth

Using the 7 Steps of Rebirth stops us from automatically reacting to situations as a traumatized, frightened child and instead lets us access our calm, accepting adult self.

To ensure that the 7 Steps of Rebirth are effective, you must not rush through the process or skip a step. Each one is precise and necessary to create the healing, the separation and the return to the present.

Summary of the 4 Steps of Reconnecting with Joy

Using the 4 Steps of Reconnecting with Joy allows us to experience that powerful, healing Divine love and to have hope and faith. This feeling is one that each of us can easily access at any time and in any place by using this technique. It will help you access joy and make it readily available, as if it were in a protected vial, ready to be opened up and used whenever you wish.

Step 4: Reconnect with joy. Say your “code” or descriptive phrase silently or aloud. This immediately brings your nature memory into your awareness, allowing you to experience a few moments of joy with all of your senses.

Remember: When practicing the 4 Steps of Reconnecting with Joy, use them in combination with the 7 Steps of Rebirth. First go through the 7 Steps of Rebirth, and then, a few minutes later, do the 4 Steps of Reconnecting with Joy.

The 4 Steps of Reconnecting with Joy Timeline

When you first start using the 4 Steps of Reconnecting with Joy, it’s important to take 3 weeks to develop and connect to the nature scene with all your senses. Do this systematically in order to retrain the cells and receptors in your brain to experience joy. Every day fo 21 days, imagine this scene 3 times per day – but for a different amount of time, according to this schedule:

Week 1: Expansion. Start with 5 minutes on Day 1 and extending the length of time by another 2 minutes. (It’s important to step up the amount of time spent to make the experience more vivid.) On the final day you will do this for full 17 minutes.

Week 2: Contraction. On Day 1 start with 7 minutes and reduce the time spent by 1 minute each day. On day 7 the time spent will be 1 minute.

Week 3: Maintenance. Every day, fully experience the nature scene with all of your senses for one minute, no fewer than three times daily.

Guidelines for Writing Your Story

Seeing:

Create a comfortable, relaxed environment, free of interruptions.

View your writing with a sense of discovery, adventure, anticipation, and joy.

Time allotment:

Write for no more than 30 to 60 minutes per session, leaving a 3 to 5 day interval between sessions.

At each session, write down the experiences and feelings you had over a 5 to 10 year period of your life. As you get closer to the present, cover only one to two years per session.

The writing process may take several months.

Process:

Write in the third person at all times – be the observer or witness.

Don’t analyze or judge what you write.

Write candidly and truthfully, without sparing anyone’s feelings.

Don’t share what you’ve written until you’re finished, and only do so then if you so choose.

If experiences pop into your memory randomly, write them down. Record everything that comes into your mind, no matter where you are in your writing process at the time. (For example, if you’re writing about ages 10 to 15 and you suddenly remember something that happened when you were 25, write that down and revisit it later, when you’re working on the years 20 to 25.)

Completion:

Read your entire story to yourself.

Reread it every 40 days or so to appreciate its fullness and your history.

Get a sense of how you would have like your story to unfold.

View your writing with a sense of discovery, adventure, anticipation, and joy.

Time allotment:

Write for no more than 30 to 60 minutes per session, leaving a 3 to 5 day interval between sessions.

At each session, write down your imagined experiences and feelings over a 5 to 10 year period of your life. As you get closer to the present, cover only one or two years per session.

The writing process may take several months.

Process:

Embark on the process of creating a “fantasy” of what you would have wanted to look like, what you would have preferred your family and home life to be like, what you wish you could have become, and so forth. Remember, you’re now making the impossible, possible!

Completion:

Read your rewritten story whenever you need a pick-me-up and a reminder of all the possibilities your life presents you with as it continues to unfold.
