REASON FOR NOMINATING:
[Chris Sinclair] I have been watching Glenn for the last 5 years and he has constantly improved and he is at WSF standard he just needs the opportunity to show that at a major event with a few different WSF Assessors. It is hard in the southern hemisphere to get exposure and activity, and I ask WSF to please give him a chance for one year. He has a sound knowledge of the written Rules, shows consistency in their application, is very strong on No lets, and has a pleasant attitude that contributes towards good match management, and therefore the players like him. Malcolm Willstrop approached me in Hong Kong and stated that Glenn is a very good referee and asked how to get him on the Tour. Glenn is proficient as a single Referee, as a Side and Central Referee, and with Doubles. As Oceania Refereeing Convenor, I ensorse Glenns nomination for WSF Referee accreditation and hope WSF will give him a chance.
[Jim OGrady] As the Chief Executive of Squash New Zealand, I have been very impressed by the progress Glenn has made in his refereeing career. His refereeing ability speaks for itself, as his rapid progression from National, to Regional, and now having satisfied the requirements for WSF qualification attest. Equally satisfying has been his manner and behaviour in the game. Glenns conduct, temperament and comportment as a referee have been first class, making him an excellent example for other referees in New Zealand. Additionally, his work on New Zealands Referee Management Panel, as a mentor for other referees, have been invaluable to the refereeing and squash structures in New Zealand, and extremely satisfying for the national association.
CONTRIBUTION TO DEVELOPMENT OF REFEREES:
[Chris Sinclair] I have observed Glenn both within Oceania and overseas, and he is proactive assisting others, he assists in rules presentations and courses, and conducts himself professionally at all times. He is young, good and keen, ans this is what WSF and PSA need.
[Jim OGrady] Glenn has also served on Squash New Zealands Referee Management Panel for more than three years. This Panel is responsible for setting the strategic direction for refereeing in New Zealand. Glenns work in this environment , as well as his willingness to mentor and assist other members of New Zealands refereeing fraternity, is exemplary. In particular, he has been responsible for the development of CBTA qualification standards for New Zealand referees ensuring that New Zealand National Referees meet WSF standards.
