2 0 1 6 "Standing by Tunnerminnerwait and Maulboyheenner" ( Artists: Brook Andrew and Trent Walter,

Melbourne )

A high profile project to commemorate the lives of the first two men publicly hanged in Melbourne in 1842. This

project involves

­ resolving procurement within council guidelines

­ working closely with the artists to realise their work

­ coordinating stakeholders to the project both internally to council and externally including service

authorities, MFB and RMIT

2 0 1 6 MPavilion 2016 ( Architect: Bijou Jain, Mumbai, India )

2016 is the third annual installation of the MPavilion in the Queen Victoria Gardens. I have worked on this

project since its inaugural installation in 2014, involving

2 0 1 6 CH2 Green Roof Refurbishment

The Green roof on the top of Council House 2 since its completion in 2006 changed the landscape and

inspired developers and designers across Australia and internationally. 10 years later the roof is being

refreshed and I am in the process of procuring contractors to design and construct additions to the existing

environment to ensure a lush and successful garden heading into the next decade

Previous projects ­

2 0 1 6 1200 Buildings "Green Transfer’’ ( Artist: Arup, Melbourne )

This project has been technically complex requiring significant collaboration, research, development and

testing. The visually striking computer controlled work comprises recycled street signs from around Australia.

The signs cut into squares are wired to make them flip through 90 degrees, creating graphic images that depict

the building’s energy use. This project required

2 0 1 5 MPavilion 2015 ( Architect: AL_A, London, England )

The second installation of the MPavilion involved

­ Coordination of overall project installation for the four month period in the Queen Victoria Gardens

­ Management of the relocation agreement of the pavilion to its new permanent home at the end of that

exhibition period including preparation of deed documentation

2 0 1 5 City Christmas Decorations Program Each year a variety of decorations are installed throughout the municipality of the City of Melbourne. The management

of the installation of the Christmas decorations is a complex task with each decoration being a separate project within

itself. The project was passed on to me and I needed to find my feet quickly and effectively to keep to program. The

project, including new decorations, was delivered on time and to budget. This required

2 0 1 5 Kathleen Syme Library and Community Centre ( Architect: City of Melbourne )

This project involved the refurbishment of an historic building with the addition of a new wing. I came into the

$15.5m job mid project suddenly due to circumstance. Adaptability and quick learning were essential to pick

up the management fast to keep the project on track. The project was completed under budget, to program,

client and public approval. It required

2 0 1 5 "Seeds of Friendship" ­ Australian Turkish Friendship Memorial ( Artist: Matthew Harding,

Trentham, Victoria )

Initiated by the Turkish Sub­branch of the Victorian Returned Services League, the project involved Tectura

Architects, community groups, members of State and Federal Parliament and the Victorian RSL. I provided

­ Advice on local government regulations and regulatory process

­ Working with the artist to adhere to strict deadline for the 100 year anniversary of the Gallipoli landings

­ Coordination and liaison

­ Negotiation skills

2 0 1 4 MPavilion 2014 ( Architect: Sean Godsell, Melbourne ) The MPavilion is an event hub a meeting place and landmark. It is a unique architectural commission and design event

in Melbourne, initiated by the Naomi Milgrom Foundation with support from the Victorian Government and City of

Melbourne. Every year for four years an architect is commissioned to design the temporary pavilion for the Queen

Victoria Gardens. After its four month stay in the gardens the pavilion is relocated to a new permanent home. I was the

Project Manager for the inaugural installation including

­ Permits and approvals ­ Heritage Victoria, Department of Environment Land Water and Planning and City of

Melbourne Parks and Waterways

­ Client Liaison

­ Coordination of the relocation of the Pavilion to its new permanent home at the end of that exhibition period

­ Deed of Gift preparation, working with legal counsel

2 0 1 4 Library at the Dock ( Architect: Design ­ Clare Design, Sydney, NSW Detail Development ­

Hayball, Melbourne )

The $23m Library is Australia’s most sustainable community building, achieving a six­star green star rating

under the public buildings rating tool from the Green Building Council of Australia, yet embracing 21st century

technology. It was delivered through partnership between Lend Lease, the City of Melbourne and Places

Victoria. With three major contributors, two architectural firms and a myriad of consultants, the project was

highly demanding and complex. Skills required were

­ Project Management

­ Working together with consultants to achieve the desired design intent

­ Negotiation within the Partnership group

­ Understanding of the Green Star regulations and achieving the requisite standards

2 0 1 4 “ Apparatus for Transtemporal Occurrence of Impending Space" ( Artist: Russell Anderson,

Sunshine Coast, Queensland )

As part of Russell’s ‘imagined histories’ series the ‘Apparatus for Transtemporal Occurrence of Impending

Space’ was created to see possible futures. The machine depicts a fictional vision of Melbourne in the 1930s

– as envisaged by 19th­century inventors

2 0 1 3 ‘ Fruition’ ( Artist: Matthew Harding, Trentham, Victoria )

As an inanimate symbol of biology, Fruition explores the connection between the city and the natural

environment. The artist built the pods in his studio in Trentham Victoria and they were trucked to Melbourne to

be installed onto small concrete pad footings in Royal Park, Parkville. Lifted by crane from the truck to the

site, the project involved

­ Knowledge of council and statutory regulations ­ street permits, traffic management

­ site coordination

­ Working closely with the artist

­ Programming

2 0 1 3 ‘Raising the Rattler Pole’ ( Artist: David Bell, Forster, Vctoria )

The Rattler is a reproduction of Tram 1040, the last tram built at the Preston Tram Works to service Bourke

Street in 1956. Positioned on the corner of Spencer Street and Flinders Street, the 1:1­scale replica, is

upended and tilted at 10 degrees. The project required

­ Negotiation to secure the cooperation of the neighbouring properties

­ Risk management

­ Stakeholder negotiation

­ Council permits

2 0 1 1 ­ 2 0 1 4 Disability Discrimination Act Upgrades

Budget is allocated annually to Disability Discrimination Act works to upgrade accessibility to the city's public

buildings. The work is wide ranging including a new architecturally compatible accessibility ramp to the historic

Melbourne Town Hall Collins St entrance and refurbishing entrances to the historic North Melbourne Town Hall
