The e-booklet refers to the topics/sub-topics for the
project work to be carried out throughout the academic
year as per the recommendations & guidance of the
Central Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E.). In
empirical terms, it may be regarded as the sum total of a
planned set of educational experiences provided to a
learner by a school. This e-booklet provided by the
Indirapuram Group of Institutions is based on the CBSE
latest curriculum 2019 and seeks to provide opportunities
for students to achieve excellence in learning. This e-
booklet provides wide range of the topics/sub-topics in all
subject applicable and ample scope to the students for
selecting the topic as per their interest. Topics/sub-topics
in this e-booklet are suggestive and do not bound students
to not go beyond this. Detailed guidelines & information

PROJECT ON ANY ONE TOPIC
1. FIELD VISIT: The objective of introducing this topic among the students is to give a firsthand
experience to them regarding the different types of business units operating in their
surroundings, to observe their features and activities and relate them to the theoretical
knowledge given in their text books. The students should select a place of field visit from the
following: – (Add more as per local area availability.)
� Visit to a Handicraft unit.
� Visit to an Industry
� Visit to a whole sale market:
� Visit to a Departmental store
� Visit to a Mall.
� Visit to any Private or Public company
� Visit MSMED, NIESBUD (for project on small scale industries)
� Visit Trade Fair (for Project on Small scale industries)
2. CASE STUDY:
Take a product having seasonal growth and regular demand with which students can relate.
And study under following points:
� Research for change in price of the product.
� Effect on prices in the absence of effective transport system.
� Effect on prices in the absence of suitable warehouse facilities.
� Duties performed by the warehouses.
� Demand and supply situation of the product during harvesting season, prices near the
place of origin and away
3. AIDS TO TRADE : Taking any one AID TO TRADE, BANKING , WAREHOUSING,
COMMINICATION, INSURANCE and gathering information on following aspects :
� History.
� Development of regulatory Mechanism.
� Types & Importance of aids to trade to the businessmen.
� Terminologies used (premium, face value, market value, maturity value, surrender value)
and their meanings.
� Anecdotes and interesting cases
� Careers in the field.
4. IMPORT/EXPORT PROCEDURE : : The students should identify a product of their city/country
which is imported /exported. And study under following points

� Details of the actual import/export procedure.
� Help provided to the business from the Chambers of Commerce, Banker, existing
Importers/Exporters, etc.
� Details of the procedure and link it with their Text knowledge.
� The specimens of documents collected should be pasted in the Project file with brief
description of each.
5. VISIT TO ANY STATE EMPORIUM (OTHER THAN YOUR SCHOOL STATE): Student will
choose emporium of any state except his school state and visit to get following understanding
� Nature of the business organisation (emporium)
� Determinants for location of the concerned emporium
� Is the space rented or owned
� Nature of the goods dealt in
� Sources of merchandise of the emporium
� Role of co-operative societies in the manufacturing and/or marketing of the
merchandise
� Role of gifts of nature or natural produce in the development of
goods/merchandise
� Types of buyers and sellers
� Modes of goods dispersed, minimum quantity sold and type of carrying bag or
package used for delivery of the products sold
� Factors determining the pricing at the emporium
� Comparison between the prices of goods available at the emporium with the
prices in the open market. Also highlight probable causes of variations if any.

� The technique used in making the products i.e., hand-made or machine made

X) To estimate the presence of hypochlorite ion in bleach sample, using standardised
thiosulphate solution.
XI) Build your own model of Zeolites, showing the structure and the other modelling
properties of size selection
XII) Checking the bacterial contamination in drinking water by testing sulphide ions
XIII) Study of the methods of purification of water.
XIV) Testing the hardness, presence of iron, fluoride, chloride etc. depending upon the
regional variation in drinking water and the study of causes of presences of these ions

1. Comprehensive Projects-Journal to Financial Statement:
Comprehensive project will involve the students from the initial stage of accounting
to the preparation and analysis of financial statements. The data provided or the
Project Statement will be as close to the real life situations as possible. The project
statement should cover all important aspects like investments, financing, operating,
adjustments to final accounts, etc. in a condensed form. The situations given in
these problems will require a student to derive meaningful conclusion for taking
decisions for the purposes of investment, expansion, financing, etc.
2. Specific Project:
Two projects will be of specific nature using at least one tool of analysis in
each. The data for these will be drawn mainly from quarterly or half yearly or
annual reports of corporate sector. Students will analyze the information given
in the financial statements as follows:
a. Performance of Segments keeping in mind their three parameters Revenue, Net
Profit and Capital Employed of companies on quarterly or half yearly or annual
basis Cost of Revenue, Net Profit and Earning Per Share (EPS) on quarterly or half
yearly or annual basis with the help of comparative or common size statements.
b. There are four tools of analysis given in the syllabus for the analysis of
Financial Statements, namely

4. Cash Flow Statement.
Any one or more of these tools are to be used to derive conclusions.
