Subway & Liverpool FC
Partner Objectives: By using an endorsement from a professional athlete and team, Subway’s objective was to further promote their “Train Hard and Eat Fresh” marketing program on a global scale.
Strategy: Through its partnership with Liverpool FC, Subway gained access to global IP rights, allowing them to launch a marketing campaign featuring striker Daniel Sturridge. Further promoting healthy eating and an active lifestyle, Subway also became the Official Training Food of Liverpool FC.
How it worked: As the Official Training Food, Subway billboards were placed within Anfield Stadium and along the sidelines of the pitch. Most notably, Subway launched a comprehensive marketing strategy, including in-store visuals, outdoor advertisements and television commercials featuring Daniel Sturridge as a Subway “Famous Fan.”
