Application of skills and concepts

Pupils will create a poster showing the key beliefs and teachings of 6 major religions. Pupils will study the life of |Jesus from his birth till his death.

Students will consider why the Bible is important to Christians and how it is used. Students will explore the story of Rama and Sita and decide if they were good role models.

Students will study the lives of Martin Luther King JR, Mother Theressa, Oscr Romero and then also decide if the pope is inspirational.

Pupils will study the life of Nicky Cruz and know how he changed his life and inspired others.

Pupils through the story of being stranded on an Island will explore morality, life, laws and leadership.

This term: Skills, Knowledge and Understanding to be developed: • Skills: Students will be able to – develop knowledge and understanding of the worlds’

major religions, Christianity and Jesus. • Knowledge: Students will know – key beliefs about world religions and look in more

detail at Christianity and Jesus. • Understanding: Students will demonstrate their understanding – their understanding

of Christianity showing an ability to construct well informed recount and explanation about Jesus’ life.

most important events in Jesus’ life successfully.

Students will describe the baptism of Jesus and explain how Christians are

baptised.

LP 3 – Week 5 and 6 Learning Outcomes:

1. Students will consider the meaning of the parable ‘The Good Samaritan

2. Students will know the meaning of the parable of the Prodigal son and how Christians apply it to their everyday lives.

3. Students will examine the miracle of the feeding of the five thousand.

Success criteria: Students will explain what happened in the

story and explain its importance to Chrisitan’s.

Students will retell the parable of the Prodigal son and explain its meaning.

Students will define the word miracle and give examples. They will analyse the

feeding of the 5000.
