This term: Skills, Knowledge and Understanding to be developed: • Skills: Students will be able to – develop knowledge and understanding of the worlds’

major religions, Christianity and Jesus. • Knowledge: Students will know – key beliefs about world religions and look in more

detail at Christianity and Jesus. • Understanding: Students will demonstrate their understanding – their understanding

of Christianity showing an ability to construct well informed recount and explanation about Jesus’ life.

LP1 – Week 1 and 2 Learning Outcomes. 1. Discuss their own experiences and share

other pupil’s experiences about religion. 2. Students will learn some facts about the

six world religions.

Success criteria: Students will share their thoughts and views

about religion. Students can identify key features of the 6

know about Christianity. 2. Students will begin to consider the

most important events in the life of Jesus.

3. Students will analyse the Baptism of Jesus

Success criteria: Students will identify many facts about

Christianity. Students will construct a time line of the

most important events in Jesus’ life successfully.

Students will describe the baptism of Jesus and explain how Christians are

baptised.

LP 3 – Week 5 and 6 Learning Outcomes:

1. Students will consider the meaning of the parable ‘The Good Samaritan

2. Students will know the meaning of the parable of the Prodigal son and how Christians apply it to their everyday lives.

3. Students will examine the miracle of the feeding of the five thousand.

Success criteria: Students will explain what happened in the

story and explain its importance to Chrisitan’s.

Students will retell the parable of the Prodigal son and explain its meaning.

Students will define the word miracle and give examples. They will analyse the

feeding of the 5000.

arguments for and against God’s existence.
