Stylianos L. Papalexandropoulos has authored in Greek a number of books on Japanese Religions, especially Japanese Buddhism. Except for his PhD he has written: Θεότητες και κόσμος στην κοσμογονία του Κοτζίκι (Deities and the World in Kojiki Kosmogony), Ἡ ἀληθινή πραγματικότητα στό ἔργο του Ντόγκεν (True Reality in the Work of Dogen), (Ἱστορία τής τέχνης του Ἰαπωνικου Βουδισμού ‐552794 μ.Χ. (A History of Japanese Buddhist Art 552794). He has also written many articles on various religious and theological subjects. He has translated Japanese Literature (Ueda Akinari, Shiga Naoya, Abe Kobo).

He has taught for years on Japanese Civilization at the School of Literature of the University of Athens and elsewhere and lectured extensively on related subjects. Together with mrs Cybele Vernie he has been the initiator for the establishment of theSchoolofAsiaticStudiesattheIonianUniversity,Corfou.
