This course introduces students systematically to the developments and implications of digital technologies on contemporary culture and society.
Our core module looks at digital technologies and how they reshape different areas such as:
cities and transport, finance, journalism, marketing, work, governance but also identities and intimacies in digital media, and to many other areas.
Example of digital health
We teach a systematic understanding of the main cultural, political, economic and ethical aspects of digital culture and society and a strong command of related literature.
Employment: think tanks the arts and the cultural sectors government and public administration, international development NGOs & education media and communications public relations journalism.
On this course you will learn to formulate your own arguments and professional questions about digital technology.
How will we teach you? Online or offline?
We will be open, and our goal is to be on campus, offering a combination of on-campus teaching and learning with online delivery through enhanced use of technology.
Tasks:
Read the set reading (=required reading) before class.It is easier to follow and understand lectures and you can contribute better in seminars.
Seminars are important!!! We like you to participate actively in and contribute to the discussion. Make it your goal to say something at least once! Show your hands!
