Study Off Campus Request Form

Emmanuel College Study Off Campus Approval Process

1. Complete “STUDENT SECTION” of Form and Submit Form and Respective Course Descriptions/Syllabi to the OFFICE of THE REGISTRAR. The Registrar’s Office will evaluate all coursework and assign equivalencies and credit designations to each course completed off campus. If needed, the Registrar will consult with the appropriate Departments regarding major coursework. For a preliminary review of what courses have been reviewed in the past, students may use the Emmanuel College Course Search Tool at https://ecforms.emmanuel.edu/tce/. The course search tool does not take the place of the Study Off Campus Request Form, and all students must submit this form if they intend to complete a course off campus, no matter if the course is already evaluated in the Course Search Tool.

2. Receive Final Approval Form via Email. The Office of the Registrar will email you and your advisor a copy of your final course approvals as that you have a completed course approval form. Students should submit approvals for off-campus work at least one week prior to the off-campus course starting to ensure approvals are received in time. Approvals generally take 3-4 business days; however, requests for major coursework and certain direct equivalents may require additional time for review by academic department.

Course Equivalent Codes: To view a description of the course equivalent codes please visit: Transfer Course Number Key for Non-Emmanuel Equivalent Courses

Domains of Knowledge (General Requirements) Guidelines: To view the guidelines for what content fulfills general requirements please visit: Domains of Knowledge-General Requirements Guidelines

3. Request official transcript from Host Institution to be sent to the Emmanuel College Office of the Registrar upon completion of the course. Once we

receive the transcript, it will be matched with your approval form and the credit will be posted to your record so long as a grade of C or better has been earned.

Credit Deficiency Removal Policy If your intended Study Off Campus course will be used to replace a course already completed at Emmanuel, please review the policy below and complete the credit deficiency removal process.

Courses may be repeated to replace the grade of an F, to meet college requirements, or to improve a student’s grade point average. The student must repeat the same course. Another course in the same department may be substituted only with the approval of the student’s academic advisor and the chairperson of the department. Credit will be awarded only for one of the courses and the higher of the grades will be calculated in the cumulative grade point average. The original grade remains on the transcript. Should the original grade have resulted in the student being places on academic probation, the new grade will not affect that status. It is the student’s responsibility to submit a completed credit deficiency removal form to the Office of the Registrar to complete the process.
