Welcome to IX SIMPAR-ISURA 2017Dear Friends and Colleagues,We are honored to welcome all of you at the IX SIMPAR - ISURA meeting, in the wonderful city of Florence. Two international and well known meetings will join together, in order to give you the unique opportunity of building your own, personalized meeting experience by choosing among the most updated topics on peri-operative care and chronic pain.SIMPAR (Study In Multidisciplinary PAin Research) is the first “bench to bedside” meeting based on a “’translational’ approach, where basic scientists and clinicians can meet and share their expertise in order to improve the management of patients with acute and chronic pain.ISURA (International Symposium of Ultrasound for Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine) is the first international meeting completely dedicated to the application of ultrasound for regional anesthesia and pain medicine, now at the 14th edition. As you can see from the program, you can find several different sessions with most important experts in the field of basic science of pain, postoperative and chronic pain management.

BUILD YOUR PERSONALIZED PROGRAMFurthermore, parallel “Meet the Expert” and “PRO-CON” sessions will be available, as well as focused workshops: “Feed your Destiny” will address the topic of nutrition and pain, young researchers will present their projects in the “YAP” meeting, and a new drug formulation will be presented at PAINNOVATION. A dedicated session will be also available for pain in infants and children. Do not miss the US workshops in acute and chronic pain with the most known clinicians in this field! SIMPAR-ISURA is the place where scientists and clinicians, as you, can meet and improve their scientific and technical skills, to translate innovations into clinical pain management in a friendly atmosphere; it is a wonderful opportunity for scientists, clinicians and stakeholders to meet in an awesome venue to share new ideas. Finally, we kindly invite you to attend the Welcome Cocktail after the Opening Ceremony on Thursday: a moment to celebrate with the other 950 registered attendants! We hope that you will enjoy the unique SIMPAR-ISURA atmosphere and remember to share your experience of these days with us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook!
