INTERNATIONAL PHYSICS COURSE SPECIAL INTEGRATED SCIENCE COURSE

Graduate School of Science

In this course, we provide graduate students with an education and research program conducted in English and designed so that a student can work as an active member of international collaborations in theory or experiments, for example, with large-scale facilities. Osaka University is unique in that it has its own facilities, including a high-power laser and a high-energy accelerator. Students interested in condensed matter physics and other fields of physics are of course also encouraged to join the International Physics Course (IPC). Enrollment: April, October English Test (Master): TOEFL Apply: November, June or TOEIC or IELTS Exam: January, July URL: osku.jp/r0703

The Special Integrated Science Course (SISC) combines aspects of three majors -chemistry, biological sciences, and macromolecular science- and involves research and education in fields where chemistry merges with biology. Aiming to have a broad-based vision, this course cultivates the capabilities, such as the ability to conduct research using advanced analytical skills, required to become a leader in natural science fields and also places strong emphasis on cultivating interdisciplinary knowledge and international communication skills.

Enrollment: April, October English Test (Master): Apply: November TOEFL-iBT:50, TOEFL-PBT:480, Exam: January TOEIC:700, IELTS:4.5 URL: osku.jp/f0378

The Human Sciences International Undergraduate Degree Program has been running now since 2011. The program takes an interdisciplinary approach allowing students to gain a solid grounding in , among other things, sociology, politics, gender studies, and education while learning about global citizenship and contemporary Japan. We place a strong emphasis on the development of Japanese language proficiency and transferable skills. Our graduates are very attractive to both employers and graduate schools. Enrollment: October Apply: December English Test: TOEFL iBT: 85, IELTs: 6.5 or equivalent*

Mechanical Engineering provides technologies with which our lives can be made safer and easier. It covers scales from nanoscopic to global. Mechanical engineer-ing contributes to such technologies as robotics, micro-machinery, low-emission vehicle and aerospace engi-neering. It is based on the following foundations for its research and education: (1) physics, including solid me-chanics, fluid dynamics and thermodynamics (2) theories of control and information (3) advanced methodologies in design, manufacturing and system integration. Enrollment: April, October English Test: TOEFL, TOEIC Apply: July, October / October, May IELTS Exam: August, November / November, June URL: osku.jp/h0477

The objective of this program is to equip new generation of young scientists with fundamental knowledge and cutting-edge research skills in Applied and Engineering Physics. By elucidating the fundamental physical, chemical and biological properties of materials, and designing materials with novel functions, we open a new way to the development of nanotechnology, photon technology, and biomedical engineering. We also aim to develop and produce international collaboration through the creation of an intellectual human resources network. Furthermore, by utilizing interdisciplinary organizations and international networks, we contribute to other socially important fields such as new industries, environment, and energy problems. Enrollment: April, October English Test: TOEFL, TOEIC Apply: July, October / October, May IELTS Exam: August, November / November, June URL: osku.jp/r0389
