The Rainforest Relationships
Life in the rainforests is competitive and survival tough. Rainforest plants and
animals have developed complex relationships with other species in order to
survive this diverse environment. The Rainforest Relationships program gives
students the opportunity to explore these complex relationships and learn about
how working together is key to survival, while also getting to know the indigenous
plants and animals.

to over half the world’s plant and animal’s species, to the food we consume,
the paper products we use in our lives, and the medicinal treasures. These
“Jewels of the Earth” offer us more than we know.
Covers topics of:

THE VISIT:
The students were welcomed by warm smiles from the educators of the facility. A
group photograph was taken to make this day more memorable. The students were
segregated into two different groups. The educators first led the students into an
AV room. We were briefed about different types of symbiotic relations between
organisms such as mutualism, commensalism and parasitism. The students were
separated into teams of two and played a game about symbiotic relationships;
afterwards the students visited each level of the rainforest. They learnt about each
animal which live in each level as well as about the plants. The students were

fascinated with how the animals blend in to their environment as well as the bright
colors of some birds and insects. The educators thoroughly explained about the
different forest layers, that is the forest floor, the Middle layer and the Canopy.
The facilities possessed state-of-the-art technology and helped provide a
comfortable yet adventurous journey. As the students filed into the bus after a
tiring but interesting day, one could witness the smile on their faces, encasing an
expression of enthusiasm. The experience was amazing and enlightened the
students about the various aspects of the majestic rainforest.
