Name: Jessica Calhoun Week: 9

How did you spend your time this week? What responsibilities did you have?

This week I continued to take over grade 5th, 6th, and 7th. The seventh graders are working on the graphite sections of their woven portrait; I am assisting and instructing them on an individual basis at the moment.

What were your most satisfying experiences? What were your most challenging experiences?

Some of the satisfying experiences is seeing how my 7th graders are taking the direct instruction I gave them and how they are applying them to their grid drawings. Especially what I have taught them with how to use the blending stump to build up different values in the grid.

What are the plans for the upcoming week?

This week, 6th graders will be finishing their illustrated word project and moving on to perspective. The 7th graders will be finishing their graphite sections of their portraits and then will be ready to start colored pencil by the end of the week. I will potentially doing some direct instruction on using colored pencils depending on their progress. 5th grade will be finishing their monster cube watercolor paintings, and I will be showing them how to construct the cube base, where they will cut the water color sections out and glue them on the cube base.
