Students and teachers!• Both of us worked in year 6

classrooms– Equivalent of grade 5– We had very different experiences

• It is important to voice your needs as a student teacher as the teachers are not familiar with our program.

– They are friendly and willing to help you out

– You need to take charge of your own teaching experience- they will support you

• The school has a very friendly atmosphere and is welcoming!

Overall ExperienceMary• Time spent in England has been

fantastic. It is still a culture shock, they do not speak English as we know it. I have learned a lot from working over here and observing the school classes. Some experiences are priceless in their own way. The opportunity to teach and study in a foreign country is something that cannot be replaced and will help give a leg up in a growing world where the internet is making life abroad seem much closer.

Amanda• I thought this was a great

experience. The teaching system here has similarities and differences. Even the slang here is different. I have a great deal to bring home to the schools there. The national curriculum here has so many resources to offer to the teachers. I feel this opportunity can give you a boost in the teaching world. It is not very expensive, and I would give it a try!
