Information
What is SSS TRIO?
The purpose of the Student Support Services Program (SSS) is to increase the number of disadvantaged low-
income college students, first-generation college students, and college students with disabilities in the United States
who successfully complete a program of study at the postsecondary level.
We want to give all CU students that qualify for SSS the opportunity to learn more about our program.
How do I qualify for SSS TRIO? One or more of the following criteria allows you to qualify for SSS:
1) A First Generation student (neither parent has a 4-year degree)
2) A student with a Disability (this confidential information is at your discretion to list if you want to qualify
under this criteria – all information is kept confidential)
3) Income eligible – According to Federal Trio Low-Income Levels

* If you are income qualified, we will need signature(s) from whoever’s most recent Income Tax that you are
claimed on.
* If your parents file a joint tax return we will need both signatures.
* If you do not qualify under Low Income please write NOT APPLICABLE (N/A) on the Taxable Income line.
If you are eligible for SSS under one of the above listed criteria, please compete all of the SSS
application. (Please stop by the SSS office to learn more about our program).
If you are NOT eligible, please fill out the top portion of the application and fill out the
following:
First Generation = NO (Neither parent have a 4-yr degree)
Taxable Income Line = N/A (I do not fall under the Trio Low Income Levels)
Disability = NO (Not claiming to be a student with a Disability)

Provide opportunities for academic development
Assist students with basic college requirements
Encourage students toward the successful completion on their postsecondary education
Student Support Services (SSS) may provide grant aid to current SSS participants who are receiving
Federal Pell Grants, are first or second year students and are in good academic standing.

◊ Provide one on one academic counseling such as; study skills, time management, test taking tips
◊ Assistance in course selection
◊ Assist with student financial aid programs
◊ Assist with career options
◊ Academic activities
◊ GRE and MCAT preparation
◊ GRE Fee Waivers
