    Alice Springs campus is located in Australias

    Palmerston campus is located in Palmerston, 20 kmfrom Darwin. Set in bushland near Palmerstonsretail zone. Relaxed atmosphere. Student trainingfacilities include a restaurant that is open to thepublic, a commercial kitchen and a simulated hotel.The library has comprehensive electronic learningresources. 24-hour access to computer labs.

    Centres also operate at Jabiru, Nhulunbuy, Yulara

    and Tennant Creek.

    Katherine campus is located 300km south of Darwin. Offers vocational training in targetedareas. CDU town centre study area has computer labs, classrooms, conference areas, lecturetheatre and student lounge. The NT Rural College, just north of Katherine, covers 4000 ha and hasworkshops, cattle handling facilities, stables,library and computer facilities.

    rELoCATING For

    STUDYO -campus accommodatioCasuarina campus is home to North FlindersInternational House (NFIH). It is a three-minute walk from the main library and lecturefacilities. NFIH has 270 rooms in severalbuildings. The accommodation is self-cateredand has a range of free communal facilitiessuch as kitchens, bathrooms, laundries,computer lab, swimming pool, BBQ area,games room, study room, TV room andin-room wireless internet access. Fees startfrom $161 a week.

    Off-campus housi gReal estate agents have listings for a rangeof accommodation for students who prefer to live off campus. Rent for a two-bedroomapartment can vary from $250 to $450 aweek and from $350 to $500 a week for athree-bedroom house. Many students live inshare houses. Support and Equity Servicesoperates an accommodation register to helpyou nd share or rental accommodationonce you are on campus.

    Ear while you learDarwin has many job opportunities if you want to work while you study. Localbusinesses regularly recruit our studentsfor part-time and casual work.

    Darwi , the Territory capitalDarwin is a young, vibrant and friendly cityof about 110,000 people from more than 70nationalities. The average age is 29, whichis much younger than other Australian cities.

    Alice Spri gsAlice Springs is the second largest townin the Northern Territory and is in the ariddesert. With the ancient landscapes of theMacDonnell Ranges surrounding the town,exotic ora and fauna, and Uluru nearby,

    Alice Springs is a popular tourist destinationand an ideal base for starting an Outbackadventure.

    Katheri eKatherine, 300 km south of Darwin, ishome to the internationally acclaimedNitmiluk (Katherine Gorge) National Park,and is among the Northern Territorys mostpopular visitor destinations. Katherineoperates as a base for exploring the Gulf region, Kakadu and the Kimberley.

    Weather

    The Northern Territory extends acrossa wide area and the weather is distinctlydifferent from north to south.

    The Top E dThe region north of Katherine is known asthe Top End. While most Australians freezethrough winter, Top Enders enjoy about 10hours of sunshine a day, low humidity anddaily temperatures of about 30 degrees C.Darwin, which is part of the Top End, has along dry season before receiving about threemonths of monsoonal rain. This season isknown as the wet.

    Ce tral AustraliaThe climate of the desert area aroundAlice Springs is markedly different fromthe Top End. It has hot summers withtemperatures regularly in the high 30sand low humidity. In the winter, daytimetemperatures are generally about 20 degreesC while overnight temperatures can drop tobelow zero.

    and course management system. The IT helpdesk provides support and advice for users.

    submission of an acceptable personalcompetencies statement and / oremployment experience (see special entrysection in the SATAC Universities Guide or website at W: www.satac.edu.au), or

    successful completion of at least 0.5yr offull-time study (or equivalent) of a highereducation degree/diploma, or

    successful completion of 40 credit points inthe Preparation for Tertiary Study Program(TEP2) or other recognised bridging ortertiary preparation course.

    In addition to the minimum admissionrequirements, some courses take other criteria into consideration. Detailedinformation on the selection criteria for eachcourse is available on the Universitys websiteW: www.cdu.edu.au.

    Certain courses have a limit on the number of students who can enrol; this is called aquota, and offers for admission into thesecourses will be based on merit. This meansthat even though you may meet the minimumadmission requirement to the University,your rank may not be competitive enough toreceive an offer to a course that has a quota.
