Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 2011 The annual CVMA Bandaging Wetlab for U.C. Davis SVM students took place on Tuesday, April 6 th and was a huge success! Sixty-one 2 nd and 3 rd year veterinary students watched as Drs. Carla Salido and Marianne Brick demonstrated bandaging techniques on dogs, birds and reptiles. Students were then able to practice these techniques on their own dogs that were also invited to the event. The dogs were excellent ‘patients’ as their limbs were wrapped up in brightly colored bandaging material, finished off with a decorative sticker here and there! The students would like to thank Drs. Salido and Brick for generously donating their time and expertise to help students with their bandaging skills. We would also like to thank the CVMA for hosting the event, providing this valuable teaching experience to our students, and for generously donating the leftover bandaging material to our Mercer Clinic for the Homeless. The event was a huge success thanks to the generous support of sponsors 3M Animal Care, Butler Schein Animal Health, and Covidien Animal Health. Finally, I want to recognize the efforts of CVMA’s Laura Phillips, who organized the event, and the CVMA-UCD Delegates who helped with set- up and clean-up of the event itself: Melissa Ahumada, Kelly Lin, Carolyn Lyman and Jason Wood. Thank you to all who did a great job putting on this fun event!
