Student Exchange is…
A two-way movement of students between two institutions.
Providing students a multi-cultural learning experience.
Offering EdUHK students a study abroad experience, enabling them to have an opportunity for academic and personal development. Tuition of the host institution is waived (Tuition is paid to home
institution)
Credits earned during the exchange study are transferrable

Eligibility
Do well in your EdUHK courses with a cumulative GPA of 2.5* or above
Meet specific requirements set by the preferred exchange institution. Requirements such as field of study, language proficiency (English^ or other language), year of study, etc., can be found from exchange partners' factsheets;
Complete at least 1 year of full-time undergraduate study at EdUHK before the start of exchange;
Attain good language ability; and
Be a good ambassador of EdUHK
* Successful applicant has to maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above in the semester just before the exchange study. If not, the Global Affairs Office (GAO) will withdraw the student exchange nomination.
^ IELTS (academic version) result and TOEFL result are accepted by institutions with English requirements in general.

Exchange Duration
One regular semester (Semester 1 or 2 in 2020/21)
Fall 2020 (Semester 1, 2020/21)
Spring 2021 (Semester 2, 2020/21)
Free to choose the semester to go in general. However,
to minimize the chance of postponement of graduation, and
to avoid make-up class schedule after your exchange
Students are strongly advised to exchange in possible window semester(s) specified by respective Programme Office.
After the exchange, students are expected to continue the study at EdUHK.

Students are not encouraged to go for exchange in Year 2 (Sem II), Year 3 (Sem II)and Year 5 (Sem I) which clash the BP; and Year 4 (Sem II) which clashes HPI. Ifstudents participate the exchange in this programme-year/semester, theirgraduation may be deferred.
If students would like to go for exchange in Year 2 (Sem II), students should be backto Hong Kong in early June as they need to take a compulsory course in Summersemester. Otherwise, their BPs may be affected.
If students would like to go for exchange in Year 2 (Sem II), Year 3 (Sem II) or Year 5(Sem I), students need to approach SPFEO for special arrangement of BPs.Otherwise, their graduation may be deferred.

A digital copy of a passport-sized photo (in .jpg format, file should not exceed 600KB)
A Personal Statement (in pdf format)
Proof of language proficiency (if applicable)

• Rank the choices in priority (1st choice = most preferred)
• Do research and be realistic when you decide your preference, particularly the course suitability and language proficiency requirement.

1. English test result
• IELTS and TOEFL results are valid for 2 years. Expired certificate will not be considered.
• If you plan to sit for IELTS/ TOEFL exam, please make sure the result can be ready before the application deadline.
2. Language proficiency letter
• If a language proficiency letter is required, you may contact your instructor/ professor in the EdUHK and explain the purpose of the letter to him/her. It is not a must to find an instructor or professor from language departments but he/she should have opportunities to observe your language ability.

Financial Supports for SEP (1)
Global Learning Enhancement Fund (GLEF)
• Available for all undergraduate students
• The GLEF amount is 50% of your exchange expenditure with the maximum cap at HK$10,000. The amount of subsidy to be received depends on:
the expenditure related to SEP;
whether the student has previously used the University’s subsidy for overseas/regional learning experience;
Waiver of lodging fee by the partner institution; and
Subsidy provided by host institution

Block Credit Transfer (BCT) for Outbound Exchange Programme (SEP)
• Number of credits for BCT: up to 15/18 credit points
• Complete the courses concerned at the host institution and present the transcript to GAO
• Courses transferred will NOT be counted towards the GPA
• Subject area matching is NOT required in claiming non-major course
• BCT Policy for SEP provides students more flexibility in course selection at the host university.
