This is a magazine print that got 25 marks out of 60, therefore it is one of the lowest graded magazine print. I picked this students work as I can then analyse any features I don’t want to include in my own work. Firstly, the colours aren’t contrasting. They don’t attract the customers eye, as they don’t stand out as well. There isn’t a particular theme followed on the cover, which makes the magazine look unprofessional. The colours don’t blend in with the colours, as it isn't clear what the text says. The orange, yellow and purple colours don’t make the text stand out. Overall I don’t think this magazine is attractive as it is too crowded. I will avoid adding too much on the front cover as it does give a positive impact on the rest of the magazine. The colours don’t fit in with the genre of the music magazine. I know what to not include from this magazine print.

Again, the content page have not stuck to a main theme, the colours don’t blend in well as they are the opposite types, for example black and red, and blue and yellow. I will avoid adding too much colour to my content page as it begins to look untidy and messy. The red writing on the dark background makes the text difficult to understand and read, therefore the customers wont enjoy reading the magazine. It is also difficult to read because the text font and size. It is in bold and a small text, therefore the bold letters don’t stand out. The content page gives a negative opinion on the rest of the magazine, such as the two page spread. If I came across a magazine that looked like this students work I wouldn’t want to spend my time reading it. Looking at this content page I will avoid including too much colours and make the page neater by using columns, and aligning the images straight.

Looking at this students two page spread, the first reaction a ready would get is that it looks messy, untidy and unorganised. The text boxes are all over the place.t here isn't a particular theme. Some text boxes are placed at an angle, some are placed straight which makes the magazine two page spread look unprofessional. The background is different to the main cover and

the content page. Unlike the other pages, the two page spread only has one image. It makes the page tidier than not having loads of images however, it is different to the rest of the magazine. To improve this magazine, I think the text boxes need to be in columns and the student needs to avoid using to many images. The colours are different on every page, therefore using only red and black on a grey background would make the magazine look more professional. In the middle of the page the text overlaps, so when the page is made and created, when the sheet folds to close the magazine the text will be folded which will make it difficult to read. The main header isn’t eye catching as it is n’tbigger and bolder than the other text boxes. From looking at this students work I now know what to exlcude from my work. I have a brief idea of how to make my magazine successful by analysing a low grade work.
