Introduction to STS 3
The CompanyAl-Ta’afuf Company for Electrical Works (STS) has acquired its multi-disciplinary experience through the highly technical skills and dedication of its staff. Within a relatively short period of ten years, STS has grown to become one of the leading Electro-Mechanical contracting companies in Saudi Arabia, with Ambitions to expand the company’s horizon by also operating in other areas in the Middle East.
The entire management, employees and resources of Al Ta’afuf Company for Electrical Works has operated earlier under another company named Saudi Trading & Services International Co. Ltd.
Realizing the potential for growth in the construction industry and as a strategy in expanding the contracting business, two new owners having wide experience in engineering and contracting have agreed with the owners of Saudi Trading to transfer the entire management, employees, resources and offices of Saudi Trading to a newly established company registered under the name of Al Ta’afufCompany for Electrical Works. The Logo of STS was also transferred to Al Ta’afuf and officially registered at the Ministry of Trade & Industry.
This smooth transfer has made the continuation of the construction business possible, thus allowing the new company to add the past achievements to its pre-qualification.
To expand its services, STS has associated itself with reputable international firms by becoming a licensee of their products in the field of:
• Water and sewerage treatment using the advance technology of ZENON Environmental of Canada.
• Medical Gas System of Medimaster of England.• Hospital Bed-Head Units of Medimaster of Turkey.

25STS Overview
STS - A UNIQUE APPROACH TO QUALITY MANAGEMENT
STS has, in the space of a single year, achieved ISO 9002 certification. This was only possible through total commitment to a simple and clearly understood policy.
“TO DELIVER PRODUCTS & SERVICES TO ALL CUSTOMERS, WHICH FULLY SATISFY OR EXCEED THEIR NEEDS AND ARE PERCEIVED AS EXCELLENT VALUE”
STS controls all Commercial and Engineering operational aspects of the construction processes through a computerized on- line Quality Management System.
Every facet of front end engineering, estimating, procurement, planning, scheduling, and project preparation is subject to the standardized and systematic control of the Quality Management System.
Project execution is subject to the same systematic approach. Since every project is unique, the Quality Management System requires that each project has its own specific Quality Plans in both narrative and matrix forms. These unique Quality Plans supported by client- approved Inspection and Test Plans identify all the Witness & Hold Points of the construction processes and record the participation responsibilities for every test and inspection.
The STS Total Quality Management approach to project execution has made STS the market leader in construction quality management.
It is said that, “Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery”, perhaps this is why other organizations copy STS Quality Documentation and use it as their own.
26STS Overview

• Safety will take precedence over all other considerations during site operations.
• Saudi Arabian Standards Organization safety requirements shall be complied with.
• All Managers, Supervisors and Employees will be involved in the implementation of safety procedures.
The Management will ensure that there is adequate staff, funds and material to meet these requirements.
