EGE is a group of companies assembled in an internationally operating holding company which offers deliveries of special equipment for the power industry all over the world. eGe’s global customers benefit from our over 60 years of expe-rience and tradition in quality production, from expert and reliable services, and from our flexibility in meeting customer-specific requirements.
Main spheres of business of parent company eGe, spol. s r.o. are three-fold: generator outlets - busducts and other aluminium products, special high-voltage electrical technology, lattice towers for transmission & distribution lines, and other steel structures. eGe provides its own development, design, engineering, manufacture, assembly, and service for all its own products.
To achieve stability and exploit its potential, the Steel Structures Division makes an effort to penetrate markets beyond the power industry, for example it is suc-cessful in the manufacture of steel structures for funicular railways and indus-trial halls.
SPHERE OF EXPERTISE
The Steel Structures Division is enga-ged in producing steel structures for the supply of power industry.
Main products: • steel lattice towers for overhead
transmission & distribution lines• principal and supporting structures
for switching stations Other product range:
• steel structures for funicular railways • steel structures for funicular railway
stations• auxiliary steel structures for funicular
railways • steel structures for industrial
buildings • custom-built building structures
eGe has been operating in the steel structures market for over sixty years.
The technical and practical experience garnered during this time enables the division to provide customers with con-sultancy service of the utmost quality and reliability in the development, pro-duction, surface protection, and instal-lation of steel structures.

QUALITY AT EGE
The quality level established by iSO 9001, iSO 3834, iSO 14001 and OhSAS 18001 standards has been adhered to through demanding audits which have covered the entire scope of eGe’s busi-ness activities.

STEEL LATTICE TOwERS 22 kV
The tower structures are manufactu-red from rolled steel l-profiles. Wel-ded parts are connected by screws. Surface protection can either be in the form of hot galvanization or a paint coat-ing and is carried out in accordance to eN iSO 1461 standards. The towers can be produ ced from a peak tension from 12 kN to 80 kN and tower heights from 12 m to 24 m. The towers are fit-ted with the design of brackets required by the clients.
STEEL LATTICE TOwERS 110 kV
These steel lattice towers are made from rolled steel parts equal in length, and fully bolted together or in a combination of welded and bolted sections. Surface protection is ensured either through hot galvanization or a paint coating, or a combination of the two /duplex system/.
The towers are divided as per their function:
• supporting • anchoring /corner, bracing, and
corner bracing/• branching • underpassing• others
The towers are usually fixed into block foundations. When using particular base components, this type of tower can be placed upon foundations of piles. The extension module for all tower versions is three or four metres over and above the basic tower height. One earth clamp may be installed on most towers. Some structures are provided with a twin clamp for earthing cables.

STEEL LATTICE TOwERS 220 kV
These towers are made from rolled steel pieces equal in length, usually bolted together, although a welded ver-sion is available. Surface protection is ensured via hot galvanization or a paint coating, or a combination of the two /duplex system/.
Categories of towers:• portal towers 220 kV• steel lattice towers 220 kV
STEEL LATTICE TOwERS 400 kV
lattice towers 400 kV are manufac-tured from rolled steel l-profiles. Wel-ded parts are connected by screws. Sur-face protection is either in the form of hot galvanization or a paint coating.
Classification by function:• support• reinforced support• corner tension• branch towers
examples of such constructions:• 1 × 400 kV Cat type• Delta type• 2 × 400 kV Donau type
Tower combinations in 220 kV and 400 kV versions can also be delivered.

STEEL STRUCTURES FOR SwITCHING STATIONS 110 kV AND 400 kV
Structures for switching stations are made of rolled steel sections, either welded or bolted together, and are indivi-dually designed for each construction project. Their surfaces are protected by hot galvanization or a paint coating, or a combination of the two /duplex sys-tem/.
TOwERS FOR EmERGENCY OUTAGE /bYPASSES/
The Steel Structures Division also manu-factures steel towers for emergency outages - bypasses. These are welded parts of rolled angles which can be easi-ly bolted together. The surface of these items is protected by hot galvanization or a suitable coating.
SPECIAL STEEL STRUCTURES FOR THE POwER INDUSTRY
Another important product range co-vers special steel structures for the energy industry, e.g. platforms placed under generator switches and steel structures under busducts made for the Busduct Division of eGe.

STEEL STRUCTURES FOR INDUSTRIAL bUILDINGS
industrial building frames are designed and manufactured upon request accor-d ing to client requirements. The Steel Structures Division provides compre-hensive service, including design, manu-facture, and installation.
STEEL LATTICE TOwERS FOR FUNICULAR RAILwAYS
These structures are mostly made of hollow sections in combination with u-shaped or angled elements, either bolted together or partially welded. Sur-face protection is secured by hot galva-nization. Designing and manufacturing towers for funicular railways demands the highest quality levels, and the Steel
Structures Division has many years experience in this specialized area.
SPECIAL STEEL STRUCTURES
Specially made steel structures which can be either bolted or welded toge-ther are designed and manufactured to meet client requirements and demands. The surface protection methods of-fered include hot galvanization or a paint coating, as per customer request. im-portant constructions manufactured by eGe in the past include installation plat-forms for manufacturers of aircrafts.

bASIC mATERIALS
The structures are made of plain steel, with individual elements designed from the S235JR and S355J2 forms of steel. S355J2 material is purchased with 3.1 certification. Certification 2.2 un-der ČSN eN 10204 is available for the S235JR type.
JOINTING mATERIAL
This is used to connect individual cross-bars, towers, and joint plates. Con-struction bolts adhering to DiN 7990 with strengths of 8.8 or 5.6 in combi-nation with coarse nuts approved under eN iSO 4034 are usually used.
wELDING
lattice towers and other structures are manufactured in compliance with ČSN eN 1090-2. Welding is performed in an inert atmosphere using the MAG method. A complete visual inspection of welds is conducted during manufacture under ČSN eN 5817 grade “C”.
Welding is only performed by welders trained to applicable standards ČSN 050705, ČSN eN 287-1, and DiN eN 278-1.

PRODUCTION EQUIPmENT
Modern manufacturing equipment cor-responds to the highest requirements for quality, respect for the work environ-ment and protection of the environment, based on certification iSO 9001, iSO 14001 and OhSAS 18001.
Annual production capacity is approx. 10,000 tons of steel structures.
The production area of the Steel Structu-res Division consists of two manufacturing plants and comes to a total of 11.000 m2. These areas also include space for assem-bly testing, a covered warehouse for metal-lurgical materials, and a covered hall for palletizing and shipping.
The division has a modern machinery facility that meets the high demands of material processing and safety of the manufacturing process.
PACkAGING AND DISPATCHING
The jointing material is packed into wooden crates based on the needs of the construction. The material inside the crates is carefully separated and wrapped in pp sacks. All transport units and connecting materials are identified according to assembly or packing lists.
The dispatch area is capable of handling existing production capacities. The Steel Structures Division is able to deliver products to clients requirements in adherence to valid incoterms condi-tions.
packaging for land transport is carried out following assembly lists or packing lists for domestic or european trans-port. packaging for oversea shipping or air transport is provided in accordance with valid regulations.
