2005 Structure D 2000 Structure, Chemical Bonding and 119 Moessbauer Spectroscopy of LaRhSn and CeRhSn. — The title compounds are characterized by single crystal XRD, 119 Sn Moessbauer spectroscopy, and DFT band structure calculations. They crystallize with the ZrNiAl-type structure in the space group P6 2m with Z = 3. The structures contain two crystallographically different Rh sites which both have a tricapped trigonal pris- matic coordination. Together the Rh and Sn atoms build up three-dimensional [RhSn] networks in which the rare earth atoms fill distorted hexagonal channels. — (SCHMIDT, T.; JOHRENDT, D.; SEBASTIAN, C. P.; POETTGEN*, R.; LATKA, K.; KMIEC, R.; Z. Naturforsch., B: Chem. Sci. 60 (2005) 10, 1036-1042; Inst. Anorg. Anal. Chem., Westfael. Wilhelms-Univ., D-48149 Muenster, Germany; Eng.) — W. CeRhSn. — The title compounds are characterized by single crystal XRD, 119Sn Moessbauer spectroscopy, and DFT band structure calculations. They crystallize with the ZrNiAl-type structure in the space group P62m with Z = 3.
