Assembly and Safety instructions

• Installationmustbecarriedoutundertheobservationsofthepertinentregulationanditsstandards.LEDmo-dulesaredesignedtooperatewithouthousingorlumi-naire.Theinstallationmustbecarriedoutwithoutsu-pplyvoltage.Thefollowingadviceshouldbeobserved,otherwiseitcouldresultincompletedestructionoftheLEDmoduleassembly,fireand/orotherhazards.

• TheESDprotectionmeasures(electrostaticdischarges)takeintoconsideratioonwheninstallingorhandlingtheLEDmodules.

• All components of luminaire works at high voltage.Avoidcontactwithanycomponentormetalbodywhileitisinoperation.(OnlyACseries).

• Adaptanti-staticelectricitymeasures,includingtheuseof conductive shoes, ionizers, workbench grounding,wriststraps,stool...

• AssemblyofLEDmodulescannotbesubjectedtoanytypeofmechanicalstress.Forexample:

› Usepackaging thatensuresseparationandcom-fortoftheassembly.

› Avoidforcesofshearandcompressionduringtheprocessofhandlingandinstallation.

› Donotdamagethepadstracksofcircuit.

› AvoidanykindofpressureagainsttheLED.

• Safe operation is carried out with a constant currentsource.

• Operatingenvironment:Altitudeupto2000m,tempera-turetomeetspecificationsfrom5to30ºC,Storagetem-peraturefrom5to45ºC,Relativehumidityupto50%.

• Uniqueoperationwithasourcethathasthefollowingprotections:

› Protectionagainstshortcircuit.

› Overloadprotection.

› Protectionagainstoverheating.

• Reversepolaritycandestroythemodules.

• Thefollowingpointsmustbeobservedwhenconnec-tingtheLEDmodulesinparallel:

› AllLEDstringsthatarewiredinparallelmustcon-tainthesamenumberofLEDs(symmetricload).

› Accordingtothedifferentways,therecanbeadi-fference ofmore than10% in the luminosity be-tweenthemodulesconnectedinparallel.

• Forarightcleaning,isoprophilalcoholmustbeused.

• In outdoor applications or wet location applications,mustbetakentoprotecttheLEDmoduleagainstmois-ture, splashesorwater jets.Anycorrosioncausedbymoistureor condensationwill notbe recognizedasadefectorproduc-tionfailure.

• Foroptimumoperationwithaconstantcurrentdriver,modulescanonlybeconnectedinserial.ThenumberofLEDmodulesislimitedbythetotalamountofvoltagesandbythecapacityoftheconstantcurrentdriver.Thesaferegula-tionsinaccordancewithEN60598havetobecontrollediftheadditionofthevoltageexceedstheallowedvalue.

• Thephotobiologicalsafetyofthemodulesmustbecer-tifiedwithinriskgroupsaccordingtoEN62471:2008.TheassessmentoftheriskgroupisinaccordancewithIEC/TR62778:riskgroup1.
