Visual Workflow "Streamline"Introduction

Introduction

With architecture close at heart we aim to make future projects experienceable through visualizations that realise aesthetic and atmospheric qualities of projects. Developing the expression of a project in partnership with our clients is highly important to us, as it enables us to provide a consolidating service and efficiently deliver high-quality products with efficiency.

There are many paths from plan to image. The creation process differs according to whether an image is created in-house or externally, and each visualization studio works differently. For collaborations with Nightnurse Images, this document intends to provide clarification on which information and input is needed during which phase of the process.

For this purpose, we have divided our visualization workflow into five phases and illustrated them on the following pages.

We try to make everything possible within a given deadline. If corrections are to be implemented, even though they may not be in phase, or if a previously agreed-upon and implemented mood has to be re-set several times. This can be associated with additional costs compared to the original offer. However, we do not blindly implement every correction request we receive.

An additional service that we always and very gladly provide is "Designing with the Image". This deliberate repetition of steps that reflect the evolving design can best be covered by a proposal for work on an hourly basis and a capped total budget. We are happy to help with advice and our experience on complex projects

Visual Workflow "Streamline"Data Input

Data Input

Each project is assigned to a Visualizer about a week before the agreed project kick-off. For larger projects a project will be assigned to a team of Visualizers and one Project Leader.

To ensure a high quality of our product and service, a Creative Director is always assigned to every project in addition to the work team. The Creative Director provides guidance during the image-making process and helps recognize creative possibilities.

Before being able to start working on the project, we need basic plan material. We are happy to receive this material via our project platform Basecamp. At best, this package contains all project-relevant documentation. If there is no 3D Model availabke of the project yet, Nightnurse Images creates one based on this data.Materials must be provided to us at the date defined in the proposal to ensure on-time delivery.

What we need from our customers, in order to start:

— Relevant Drawings (.dwg and .pdf) — Elevations — Floor Plans — Sections

— For Exterior Renderings: Site Plans or Landscape Drawings — Relevant Detail Drawings — If already determined: approximate viewpoints, marked in plan — If already determined: concept sketches or mood references. — If already built: 3D Model

— Please read our guide on the best practice for 3D Models. — We reserve the right to rebuild 3D models provided to us, if they make

further processing of the project difficult or impossible. Any costs incurred will be charged to the customer in the form of a reduced 3D modeling discount.

— If already existing: site-photography: — Please read our guide on the best practice for site photography. — We reserve the right to retake site photos when the provided images make

the production of a high quality image difficult or impossible (resolution too low, exposure poor, blurry or out-of-focus pictures or focal area obstructed by objects). Any costs incurred will be charged to the customer.

Visual Workflow "Streamline" Points of View

Points of View

As soon as the 3D Model is completed, we will share our suggestions for points of view.

In this phase we will start working on the image concept. In case the project already has a material concept, photos of patterns, reference images for the mood or similar additional information - if not yet provided to us - these should be provided in this phase.

The following information is optional but is ideally discussed at this time:

— Season and time of day (twilight, sunny, foggy, etc.) — Reference images for mood/atmosphere — Environmental concept references (plants, surfaces, etc) — References for interior design — Direction on people (age, gender, ethnicity, activities etc.) — Target group (buyers, stakeholders, clients) — If available: Site photos

What we need from our customers, in order to proceed:

— Feedback on the points of view — Corrections for geometry errors

Visual Workflow "Streamline" Image Concept

Image Concept

In this phase we aim to establish the intended mood and atmosphere of the project. The Image Concept can be definded by inputs from the customer, by proposal from us or co-created.

A few of the important topics to be clarified at this stage:

— Type of representation (realistic, painted etc.) — Material selection — Furniture concept — Choice of perspective (focal length, camera height, image ratio) — Color concept (desaturated or brilliant) — Lighting and mood:

— Daylight or artificial light — Selection for time of day — Soft or Hard Shadows — Lighting colour cast

In many cases we have found it helpful to talk about the desired outcome with the help of reference images.

What we need from our customers, in order to proceed:

— Confirmation or feedback on the image concept — Any additional material required to achieve the desired mood

In this phase we develop the story of the image, which includes composition and materialisation. The story of the image is told through texture, light and accurate placement of elements (vegetation, people, furniture etc.). Feedback or confirmation is needed on these assets to ensure a high-quality end-result and ongoing alignment of work and expectations.

If any corrections or adjustments are to be made to the 3D Model, this is the last opportunity.

What we need from our customers, in order to proceed:

— Confirmation or feedback on materialization — Feedback on the mood and placement of different elements — Final geometry corrections (if needed)

The image is finished!

Minor adjustments are still possible and we will gladly implement them (if requiring less than one hour of work).

Greater adjustments are also possible, within the limits of our and our customers' schedule - and if the project allows it.

We always welcome feedback on our product, service and collaboration as this helps us improve.
