This review conciuded that a third EP store (EPS 3 ) forthe storage o f reprocessing arising8 should be i ons t r x ted This was endorsed by the then BNFL Board in may 2004 and in May the EPS 3 Project was initiated.

Duri~?gthe EPS 3 FEL 1-3 phases a number of reviews were undertaken.focussing on the early use of BEPPS as an alternative to EPS 3

Paper REM T&D(l 53) approved the design and construction of EPS 3 in advance of other ILW storage facilities
