B IBLE STUDY

Sub-Theme/7: By Power Manifestation.Topic: Power Manifestation In Living (As Believers).Text: 1 Samuel 2:12-22, 26Aims: i. To understand that it takes God’s power to
live victoriously as Christians in allenvironments and circumstances we may find ourselves;
ii. To discover how we may access this power today.
Introduction: It is a common experience of Christians that are living a quality Christian life in this sin- and evil-infested world, is not easy. The Christian walk carries a big challenge. Testimonies abound of men and women, in ancient times and now, whose garments have remained white and unspotted even in the most hostile environments. How have these ones been able to move and maintain their testimonies?
Study Guide1. From the key Bible text, briefly describe the nature of the
environment which Samuel, a ‘Faith General’ (Hebrews 11:32), was raised.
2. Identify other examples of people who have had a victorious walk with God even in very trying circumstances: Gen.5:21-24 (Heb.11:5-6); 1 Kings 19:13-18; Rev.2:12-13.
3. How, in your own view, were the above people able to achieve this feat? Psalm 119:9, 11; Rom.1:16-17; Heb.11:32-34; 3 John 11; Rev.12:10-11.
4. What challenge do we have from such lives?
Heb. 12: 1-3
Conclusion: Many have failed. Many more have missed the mark. But there are many who have passed the test that have successfully walked with God and pleased Him through His mighty power at work in their lives. We too can be among such God’s heroes/heroines.
Food For Thought: It is possible to walk with God victoriously. Better believe it!
Memory Verse: Heb.12:1-2.

SERVING TILL HE RETURNS. LUKE 19:11-27, 2 COR. 5:14-15.
The theme for today’s meditation can be seen as a choice that can only be made individually irrespective of the perception of the leader’s or conviction of such group. Each member must make the decision to carry out their responsibility in the mission to serve till He comes.
The gospel according to Luke 19:11-27 the nobleman did not just went on his ways without committing certain responsibility that will occupy his servants till he comes. More so he affirmed it to the servant in the Lord’s parable that the master will return but some of the citizen said to him in verse 14 “we will not have this man to reign over us” all because they hates him.
Our second text 2 Cor. 5 verses 14&15 says for the love of Christ controls and compel us, because we have concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; and He died for all, so that all those who live will no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and was raised for their sake. (AHBV) clearly reflect the decision made by some believers who appreciate the sacrifice made by the one who died for their sins and safe them all from the wrath of God, the final judgement which is eternal.
When we have a broad vision to achieve for life it is appropriate to set a goal or goals in our lives so as to reach our vision, this goal normally have some termination point. So it
is in the texts before us today. There is a termination point to the story of the nobleman the termination point is his return, while the termination point of the Corinthians in this passage is the will of the one who died and rise again.
Dearly beloved, Jesus Christ, as the promised Messiah, was not ready to set up His earthly kingdom just yet—He must first die, be buried, rise again, and return to His Father
2. in Heaven. Then at a set time by the Father, He would return to rule and reign among men. This is the conviction of the Corinthians, it is also the parable narrated by Him. No one can continue in the service till His return if not convinced and controlled by the desires and command of the Saviour.
Romans 12:6 teach us that we as Christians have been entrusted with gifts to be used for the Lord. ”Having then gifts differing according to the grace given unto us.” We too are to “occupy.” We are to invest our time, talents, treasures, and opportunities for the Lord so that God’s work is advanced and can multiply. How long must we occupy? Should we set a termination date for our service? Would it be proper to say, I’m going to read my Bible every day for a month. Or, I’m going to tithe and trust God in my stewardship until I get out of debt? No! God’s command is to occupy—until He returns.
I charge you today my beloved in Christ to continue in the service of God in Christ Jesus till His return.Canon Adekunle Dina.
