work so I can pay rent and take care of my kid. We survive day to day since my husband left

FCC. To know more about me read my blog, my story. God Bless you Brian and FCC staff for all

Mommiesadie2: Hello. My name is Sarah. I am a Mother of 3 & I have 2 step-daughters. I

have Fibromyalgia, degenerative disk disease, Multiple Sclerosis, asthma & a few more health

issues that make my life trying, at best. Currently, my only income is disability, of which I pay

all of my bills from. I wish to leave my husband, but I have no other source of income, no

place to go nor anyone to help me. Please, see my Blog for my full story. Thank you & God

Bless.

LadyAlex: GREETINGS!!! My Mom and I are both disabled, and it would be such a blessing to

have a either a van with a wheelchair ramp or lift; nothing fancy… or most any kind of vehicle

that wheelchairs can go in (modified van, car, truck, etc.).

OH MY ACHING BACK (and Legs, and Belly, and Hands): I have alot of hardware in my lower

spine due to several spinal surgeries. In addition, I will be having more surgeries: Hiatal

hernia, carpal tunnel, kidneys and bladder. Mom and I both go to numerous doctors

regularly. And with all of my back surgeries, I fall alot, and I now have permanent nerve

damage in my legs, so I should be using my wheelchair. Plus my balance seems to have

vacated the premises as well. I have severe spinal stenosis plus sciatica, chronic spinal pain

from the hardware, and Degenerative Disc Disease. I am unable to use my powerchair

because I do not have a van with a ramp or lift. And tho my manual wheelchair will fit in a

backseat if folded, it is nearly impossible for me to get it out, much less to have to do so on a

regular basis. But soon I will not have any choice but to use my chair, and thus will be trapped

at home. Thing is, my chair died recently, and I need two batteries, which are very expensive.

BUT I NEED MY POWERCHAIR DESPERATELY AND AN APPROPRIATE VEHICLE)… THIS PAIN IS

TOO MUCH!!! – Mom fares no better. She has had her fair share of surgeries and illnesses.

She is severely diabetic, not to mention her numerous surgeries: Spinal, knees, hips, belly,

you name it. And like me, she has a powerchair and no way to transport it. With the

exception of a few hours a week, we stay pretty isolated since it is so difficult and painful to

get around. But if we had a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, the possibilities would be

endless!!!

EQUIPMENT( VAN OR SUV) TO GET MY SON TO HIS APPOINTMENTS, IN BIRMINGHAM,

ALABAMA. MY FAMILY LIVES IN DOTHAN, ALABAMA. WHICH IS A FIVE HOUR TRIP FROM OUR

HOME. MY LITTLE BOY WAS BORN WITH A SEVERE CONGENITAL HEART DISEASED CALLED

"DOUBLE OUTLET RIGHT VENTRICLE" AND BASICALLY HAS ONE GOOD PUMPING CHAMBER IN

HIS HEART. HE HAS UNDERGONE A NUMBER OF COMPLEX OPERATIONS TO IMPROVE THIS.

DR. JAMES KIRKLAND COMPLETED A FONTAN TYPE PROCEDURE WHICH HE HAD IN 2007. WE

ALSO HAVE OTHER CHILDREN. A 14 YEAR OLD SON AND A 11 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WITH

HEALTH PROBLEMS ALSO. I HAVE TO HOME SCHOOL ALL OF MY CHILDREN DUE TO THEIR

Jenniflw: Hey, My name is Jennifer I have two kiddos. I have a daughter, she is 5 years old

and I have a son he is 8 years old. My son has Aspergers ,(a form of Autism) SI dysfunction

and ADHD. My son goes to Occupational Therapy and Behavior Therapy 2 times a week. We

do not have any transportation to get him to his therapies or even to the Dr. to get his

medicine. My son, Braden has high blood pressure and needs medicine for that as well. He

struggles to make friends. He is bullied on a daily basis, He was recently choked on the school

bus by a teenage boy for so long that when he got off the bus he had a hard time talking and

breathing. He is called names, hit, kicked, pushed,ect.. He is depressed and has to have

Prozac. Due to his SI dysfunction he bites himself until he bleeds or will chew on just about

anything he can. We live in a rural area about 15 min. away from the nearest town. We don't

have cabs or buses. With Therapy we have come along way. He has been going to Therapy for

about 5 years now. Braden has so much potential. He is super smart. This year he is in GT and

he scored the highest ever on the IQ GT test. (I am very proud of him) We had a car but it

broke down then while trying to get up enough money to fix it we couldn't afford the

payments so it was Repossessed. We are very low income family. My husband works a part

time job because we have to borrow a car to get him back and forth to work. It would mean

the world to me If we got a car. This past year (2010) was rough and Im Praying that this year

is better. Keeping the Faith♥

Mkelderhouse: Im a single devoted mom of 2 girls, on my own struggling due to the situation

with my daughters health. My oldest daughter who is now 11, was born 1.lb when she was

born. there were many complications from it and suffers from many disabilities.(Cerebral

palsy, M.R., Siezures, Brittle bone disease, and has a condition failure to thrive.) This is just

few not all that she suffers. She is tube fed, and bed bound and requires me to care for her 24

hr round the clock care. She doesnt talk, but her smile says it all. She warms my heart. Her

little sister is her biggest fan, never complains, and has taken the role of big little sister. I

reciently loss my 1993 car that had issues already, but due to rust it was unsalvageable. She

was a good o'l girl and lived a long life. She went quietly. We will miss her. The town I live in

has no public transportation, so its very hard to get around. My 11 daughter has many

appointments to boston childrens hospital and her specialist that are in Bangor 50 miles

away, it is imperitive to have a working vehicle to make it to her appointments and to

provide for her daily care. It would also allow her sister to continue to do her daily activities

such as builder's club(known as key club), cheer leading, and lead an active life. My daughter

is dependant on a wheel chair and I am praying for a van or suv. Something big enough to

house her wheel chair, but most of all a life line to keep my daughters appointments to keep

her life and health stable.

Cjndncr7: Went to Walk To Remember early this morning & almost didn’t make it home. Car

kept dying. I’m stuck. Still Praising God, tho.8/8/10 Car is running, but no air and can’t roll

windows down. With temps being in high 90’s and sometime 100, puts me at risk. Amvoting

and promoting and praying for the call. 6/5/10 Car is dead again; not sure what it is; perhaps

problem with timing belt, but just had new one a month ago; May need to let it go and wait

for FCC car. 5/6/10 Past couple of months have been rough; computer crashed & car went

down twice. Cost $1,200 total for both repair jobs. thank God mechanic is letting me make

payments on the second job; ac in car went out & it is hot, but no money at this time to get

fixed. ac in house went out last nite (5/5) got it fixed for $60; is there no end? No matter what

the devil throws my way, God is still on the throne and He will provide. 4/12/10 Am working

on getting good flyers to pass out to dealerships in the area. Am having trouble because I am

not very good on the computer and am having to enlist help of others. I love the car I have

because my son gave it to me before he deployed to Iraq (just returned home from

Afghanistan). The car has 182,000 miles on it & I am believing for at least 350,000 miles. Am

thankful to have a car that runs, but I recently had some problems that set me back over $900

(not uncommon for cars with high mileage). A new car would be a blessing; also, would be

able to pass my old car on to someone less fortunate then me. Am grateful for all that I have,

but some days it is just hard to keep going. Life is not supposed to be this hard. Don’t mean to

sound like a whiny baby, because I have everything I need, just don’t have enough left to help

others like I want to. Think I would have given up a long time ago were it not for God’s grace

and mercy. All votes appreciated. Blessings to all on this site.

Hildar32: If I could just get a decent van (mine is on its last leg) I may be able to get Medicaid

to add the wheelchair lift. Situation is desperate! I am a 67 year old mother with two Special

Needs children. My husband has been deceased for 19 years and I work at WalMart 5 days a

week to keep us ahead. My son, Jason, is 39 and has Cerebral Palsy and is wheelchair bound.

He also has a number of health issues related to his Cerebral Palsy. He is mentally and

physically challenged. My daughter, Jessica,is 27 and has Downs Syndrome. Very sweet and

loving children, but they do require a lot of attention. May GOD bless ALL of us with a vehicle.

Lanell55: I am a 56 year old female with a disability in both my lower legs called

LYMPHEDEMA. My better half is HIV+. We need a car to take him to doctor's appointments,

to pay bills and grocery shopping. We have been without a car for over a year now, and it is

extremely hard here to do what you need to do, as the bus routes are very limited and they

stop running at 4:45 p.m. Thank you to ALL my friends, for your endless support and votes--

Jwat: hi all, first off, i am not used to having to do things like this because i was brought up.

well things changed as of March 11, 2007. i had a car accident and that left me unable to

work. i am very glad that i have a g/f who is so understanding and helping as much as she can

whenever i need help, plus she is there to kick my back-side when i try to push myself too

much. this accident had brought out previous injuries so much to the effect that my family

doctor had told me to file for disability. i did and have been denied twice and am waiting for

an appeal hearing. it has been almost 3 years since i have been able to work and that alone

has me going nuts. mri results show that there’s alot of damage. in the last 3 months i have

been falling over and hurting myself. i am supposed to be getting a power chair to help me

get around but that will not be too much good if i do not have a vehicle to get around in. i

would still like to get out and around as much as i can before things get too bad. in order for

me to be able to do that, i will need a minivan,(preferably one with rear entry access). thank

you to all who read this. Jim
