Stolle Inkjector
The Stolle Inkjector automated fountain is Stolle’s latest innovation to increase can decorator uptime. With the Inkjector, the manually-adjusted ink fountain keys are replaced with servo-adjustable keys that are controlled from the Inkjector control screen. It provides the decorator operator increased control of the ink application across the fountain roll on each ink station. Production testing of the Inkjector has shown reduced ink usage and improved label change times. The fountain key settings for each label design can be stored by the control system which reduces inker set up time after a label change. In addition to reducing label change time, the Inkjector will reduce HFI’s (hold for inspection) – a major cause of lost production.
On the Inkjector control screen, the operator can:• View key positions and move them at the touch of a button• Select and move multiple keys at the same time• Identify the ink by adding its name or number for each inker • Store and recall key positions, colors, and ink names in a job• Disable and enable individual keys• Change the color of an inker on the display screen to match the color on the machine• Assign a fountain to an inker, so fountains can be swapped between inkers• Auto Close all keys on all fountains• Changing can height automatically closes unused keys
Stolle is proud to offer this industry-enhancing technology to all its customers as both factory-installed on new decorators, or as a retrofit to existing machines regardless of the number of inkers or age of the decorator. Existing Stolle Concord and Rutherford Decorators can be upgraded with this valuable technology with an installation time of approximately 8-12 hours.
