This year, it feels even more fun to welcome all visitors and exhibitors to Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair. One of the reasons for this is that we have never had so much news to tell you! Continual and intensive work is underway in order to renew and improve what is the world’s leading meeting place for Scandinavian design. We have been listening to the market, talking to knowledgeable people within the business, and drawing inspiration from leading agents in the industry. e results of all these discussions and col-laborations will be unveiled during the second week of February in 2018. Allow me to give you a few examples:
Greenhouse – our display window for young designers – is relocating to Hall C and is being given a completely new and exciting setting.
We are continuing to develop our investment in knowledge and skills. Stockholm Design & Architecture Talks – the fair’s forum for knowledge and discussion – is being extended from four to ve days. e theme for this year is “Visionary inking”. e talks forum will be introduced in a new area in the Victoria Hall. Here, Luca Nichetto is creating a comprehen-sive space, which also incorporates the Design Bar – 2,000 m2 of knowledge, humor, tradition,
inspiration, culinary enjoyment, and stimula-tion for all the creative senses.
Talking about creative senses... is year’s Guest of Honour is the unparalleled Italian artistic polymath and global citizen Paola Navone. We are lled with anticipation as we await her installation which, according to tradi-tion, will be placed in the heart of the Entrance Hall.
The fact that Scandinavian design currently seems to be exerting a greater inuence on the international scene than it has done for a very long time will, of course, be reected at Stock-holm Furniture & Light Fair 2018. As topics go, we think this is really hot, while also being extremely cool at the same time.
Welcome to the world’s leading meeting place for Scandinavian design!

Lighting has a positive impact on us! We not only need lighting in order to be able to see but also for our well-being. e right lighting helps us to improve both our performance and our mood. Lighting also aects how we perceive a room. No matter how much time and money we may have spent on furniture and textiles, it is only with the right lighting that they really come into their own. e ways in which we light a room can create completely dierent atmospheres at dierent times – a change in lighting can transform a home oce environment into the perfect setting for a cozy night in. ese insights are now becoming increasingly established. Lighting is perhaps one of the biggest growing trends within home design. This year’s fair will be a source of great excitement and will feature much that is new. e lighting industry is experiencing a period of major change, as the energy-ecient LED technology creates the opportunity for new
solutions which it was previously not possible to achieve. Our designers are now able to create completely new shapes for our products, and we can now control not only the intensity of the light but also its color. The energy-e ciency of the LED lamps also alleviates our guilty consciences about the environmental impact. If it is also the case that a new LED light tting can replace a lamp that uses the old technology, this will denitely be benecial to the environment. Enjoy the fair and allow yourself to be inspired by what you see in the displays!

Guest of HonourPaola Navone – the omnipotent nomad
If you should wish to send an old-fash-ioned letter to Paola Navone’s home, you would have to use her address in Milan. ere is a considerable risk, however, that some time will pass before she gets to open it: “I spend as little time as possible in Milan, as I’m so used to moving around. You could say that, in terms of a residence, I am not a particularly stable person. My working life is primarily divided into
two areas: one of these involves architecture and product design, where we always work together for our customers in order to real-ize new projects. Right now, I am busy with a leather collection for Baxter, which will be exhibited at Salone del Mobile in April." “In my second role as an interior design architect, I have a completely dierent approach. Here, for the rst time, I have a major project at home in Italy – the client is 25 Hours in Germany and the object is in
This year’s Guest of Honour is practically impossible to define in professional terms. The multi-talented Italian Paola Navone shifts seamlessly between her numerous roles as an architect, designer, artistic leader, interior designer, critic, teacher, event organizer and curator of exhibitions. This e¡ortless transcending of bound-aries mirrors the way in which she moves across the borders between the world’s various countries and cultures. A cosmopolitan, in the truest sense of the word.

Florence. In addition, I have just recently completed a wonderful commission in Singapore – a fashion and food center incorporating stores, restaurants and a food market. It’s really beautiful, you have to go there!”
How does it work when you switch between roles so intensively and so frequently: are you one person at a time, or all the dier-ent people at the same time? “I am always the same – life would be too much of a headache, otherwise!”
Inspiration is a word that is beautiful and dicult at the same time – what does it mean to you? “Ooh. It’s something of nothing and something of everything. For me, it is just like breathing. I am constantly collecting things: elements, smells, colors, things from all over the place – not systematically, they always come to me by a natural route. Everything just lands in a big basket – or sometimes up among the clouds... is means that the analytical element of my work is always taking place, 24 hours a day! en, when I’m involved in a project and need to use something, it all just bubbles up to the surface like an under-water oil well. is means that, once I’ve started working, everything happens really quickly.”
So you decide yourself when it’s time to take your pick from all the inspiration you’ve been accumulating? “Yes. If I have to force it to the surface that means that something is wrong. en I just don’t care and don’t go to work. I don’t like trying to force things.”
You are a true nomad and a global citizen. Where are you happiest and what is it that determines this? “I never really plan where I shall travel to – the act of just getting away is the whole point. But I have felt at home in Southeast Asia, Paris, New York, and other big cities. If I’m happy somewhere, I will return many times.”

When traveling, we often have time to ourselves – what do you do when you have some free time? “I don’t have any regular habits. Some-times I’ll sleep, sometimes I’ll read, watch TV. Often, I’ll do some cooking, and then I eat! Cooking has always been a big interest of mine, ever since I was small.”
at’s something you have in common with many of your contemporaries in the industry – if you were to invite us to your home for dinner, what would you make? “ at depends! It depends on which day it is. It depends on which ingredients I nd at the market. If I’ve just returned from trav-eling, I may have brought back some exotic spices that I could use. We’ll have to see!”
You will soon be back in Sweden again. What is your experience of Scandinavia and Scandinavian design?
“We have had an a nity with Scandina-vian design ever since we were small. And it’s not just the design – Scandinavia itself has a huge in uence on many di erent areas. I have worked with a couple of Scandinavian companies – Kastall and George Jensen. Unfortunately, I feel that I don’t really know enough, but I would like to learn more. I must travel around and ex-plore Scandinavia better. But I am bulimic
and have a huge appetite for so much in this world – I want to like everything!”
You will have the chance in February! What are you most looking forward to about your next visit? “Going out in the city. Walking around and having a good look around. Visiting antique shops, ea markets. I am a collec-tor of things – sometimes I run out of room for everything and then I need to move to a bigger house, ha ha!”
And now you are the Guest of Honour! “ at’s right, and I was extremely attered when I received the news. I am always happy when I receive an invitation that allows me to travel the world. Now I’m just thinking about what is expected of me. I have no idea what is in store!”
You will just have to do as you normally do: pick something out of that basket or from among the clouds! “Si, si. It’ll be ne. I’m not worried. Grazie mille.”

Greenhouse
Greenhouse – The display window for independent designers and design schools
Through the years, many designers have had their break-through with help from Greenhouse. In order to highlight Greenhouse’s importance as a meeting place and stepping stone to reality, this year the area will feature an exhibition showcasing a group of previous Greenhouse exhibitors who have gone to on to become successful within the industry.
Scottish-Swedish designer Nick Ross was given the assignment to create the exhibition and the area’s café to form a focal point in Greenhouse. The exhibition's name, Prologue, refers to the opening of ancient Greek dramas, during which the context is established, and the characters are presented to the public.
“I work a lot with historical references, and I draw a parallel between the Greenhouse context and the introduction of a play or narrated tale. This is the first time the designers are meeting a larger audience and testing their ideas. The theater originated in ancient Greece. Back then, like now, a visit to the theater was a social event – people arrived a little early, went to a café or restaurant and hung out for a while. The entire instal-lation is therefore framed in such a way as to lead the visitor’s thoughts to the classic Greek amphitheater,” says Nick Ross.
Participants in the exhibition include TAF Arkitekter, Front, Afteroom, Sweden; Gamfratesi, Denmark/Italy; Oki Sato/Nendo, Japan; and MSDS, Canada, all of which were once Greenhouse exhibitors.
In order to provide this exciting section for young and up-and-coming designers with a better-defined setting and to bring everything together, the whole section has been moved this year to Hall C. The new Greenhouse area will consti-tute an attractive focus area and create a positive dynamic throughout the hall.
The Chair of the Greenhouse jury, Jens Fager, has this to say about the standard of this year’s applications: “They maintain a high level. We can sometimes be a little anxious in case quite a lot of room is taken up by a clique from the mainstream. So we are really happy when we discover personal expression – this doesn’t need to be supercrazy, the important thing is to have one’s own language. There is a great deal that is really positive, where we can see a clear driving force behind it and a desire to try and to learn new things. The schools also have a responsibility to allow greater room for maneuver for every individual and for every message being conveyed, as there still remains a tendency toward uniformity. One obvious trend – and here I’m mainly referring to students and schools from USA and Japan – is that Scandinavia has made a
major impression. There is a real focus on what the
product will ultimately be used for – that it will be used by people. This represents a real
grounding in function above design!”
Prologue
Greenhouse is Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair’s arena for independent designers and students. 39 independent designers and 27 design schools from 17 countries are taking part in this year’s edition. The jury that selected this year’s participants from the applicant pool of designers and schools consisted of Anya Sebton, interior architect and designer, Jens Fager, designer, John Löfgren, designer and Monica von Schmalensee, architect.

Two Greenhouse-participants on their expectations:
“It is thrilling just to be able to share my work in Stockholm. Moreover, it is a great opportunity to reflect upon myself as a designer in the context of the Scandinavian design industry. Therefore, I think it will be an amazing learning experience. Placing my work in a new environment makes me understand my intentions more clearly and, eventually, my role as an artist. My great expectation is to connect to others and reach new audiences. I believe participation in Green-house is not only a great opportunity for exciting meetings but also a platform to search for new collaborations. I hope to potentially meet with brands, manufacturers and retailers that may be interested in my work. “I will show my latest collection called Fossils – objects that require involvement. The user
cannot remain indierent towards them, but he must inspect, touch and play to use them. The collection consists of a hand-carved hanging cabinet and a coee table made of solid oak, as well as ceramics made of red clay. – Anna Bera, The Whole Elements, Warsaw
“I am expecting to make many new contacts – both for new dealers and for collaborations for future productions. My objects occupy the gray zone forming the boundary between toys, fur-niture and interior design products. One of our mutants is a foot-stool which doubles up as an anteater that children can ride on. It will be fun to test these out on the fair’s target audience. It’s always entertaining to observe people’s reactions when they encounter our work.”– Emma Persson, Studio Mutant

One of the major changes this year is that the Design Bar is moving to the Victoria Hall, where it will be integrated with Stock-holm Design & Architecture Talks, forming a completely new area for discussion, food and meetings.
“We have been working with inuences from dierent historical periods. Where the Colosseum, old theaters, mystical Stone-henge, magnicent French gardens, and a pinch of science ction constitute arenas for
those rituals that mankind associates with coming together, sharing thoughts and ideas, and eating,” explains the internationally renowned, Venice-born designer Luca Nichetto, who now lives in Stockholm.
The culinary needs are catered by Lina Ahlin, on loan from her day-job at Stockholm’s Restaurang Agrikultur. Lina has previously worked at Stockholm’s two-star Fran-zén restaurant and at Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy,

with its three Michelin stars. She describes the menu as being: “Inspired by what nature has to oer, where protein essentially serves to add some avor. ink ‘pleasant atmosphere and an unpretentious approach’.”
The décor is completely unaected by pre-vailing color trends – the white base is com-plemented with features in natural materials. Luca Nichetto explains that he has studied which architectural elements have the ability to create space by only using the oor. “We want to create a special atmosphere which harmonizes with the menus oered in the restaurant,” continues signore Nichetto. “So we thought we’d have a little fun with the guests,” he reveals.
Besides being responsible for the installa-tion, does this designer also have an interest in cooking? “As a 100 % Italian – although, admittedly, one who’s becoming increasingly Swedish – I am incredibly interested in cooking,” laughs Luca. “It is a creative process which is, in many ways, similar to that of creating products. I have noticed that this is a feeling that I share with many of my colleagues. It’s a ritual whereby you begin by opening the refrigerator and seeing what you have, and then create something based on the materi-als available.”
Luca doesn’t have a particular favorite style of food but, now that he is living in Sweden, he can sometimes miss the simplicity of Italian ingredients, and those small details that can be dicult to nd here. “Tomatoes! In Italy, they taste completely dierent, and it’s the rst thing I eat when I’m there visiting. I would say that I just like food in general: French, Japanese, Mexican and, of course, Italian.”
The total area of the combined food and discussion venue in the Victoria Hall is fully 2,000 m2, of which the restaurant part accounts for 600 m2. Bon appétit!

Trend exhibition EN–AW 6062By Christian Halleröd Design
In the EN–AW 6062 trend exhibition, Christian and Ruxandra Halleröd draw attention to a topic that is a defi nite talking point within the industry: fake material.
There has been an increased interest in the fundamental, authentic materials such as wood, metal, glass and leather, as well as in the craftsmanship involved in working with these materials. At the same time, however, these ‘authentic’ materials are beginning to be in short supply, or their use has become ethically indefensible. e crux of the matter is that they must be replaced by arti cial imitations. “Not everybody involved in design appre-ciates these methods,” say Christian and Ruxandra who, among other things, have designed stores for Acne Studios, Byredo and the sizzling hot Axel Arigato. Christian Halleröd provides an example: “We took a photograph of concrete, which we then printed onto a rug. is is a kind of a fake, but it is also a displacement of our conception of what is actually what. It all comes down to the question of how you use the materials.”
If the fi nal product is equally attractive and functional as if the authentic raw material had been used, one may wonder what the point is of di erentiating between true and false. “First and foremost, you have to really work with the material in order to feel the di erence, and this places greater demands
on the actual craftsmanship. One conse-quence of working with fake materials is that, when you actually work with something that is authentic, you really want to draw atten-tion to it – by, for example, highlighting some old details. On the other hand, it is interest-ing to use the latest hi-tech, and to see how much one can twist the faking and perhaps even create an entirely new material that has no relationship to anything else.”
It is especially within the retail trade that the Halleröd couple have really tested their design skills. “It has become more important to o er an experience to visitors when they walk into a store, since the act of buying the product can now be handled online. Stores are becom-ing more conceptual – akin to installations where one works with space, furniture and objects. In-store behavior is undergoing a drastic change. Customers may be coming to the store in order to hang out, to feel the atmosphere, to chat with the sta and listen to music and, if they enjoy their experience, they may even try on a few clothes, which they then go home and order digitally on their computers.”
In the EN-AW 6082 exhibition, Christian and Ruxandra illustrate these trends by displaying material in monumental objects which explore these themes. e exhibition is a collaboration with the Materials Library.

EN-AW 6082 is the name of an aluminum alloy that is suitable for welding and can be anodized. This alloy is strong and has excellent corrosion resistance. The trend exhibition is created in collaboration with Materialbiblioteket (The Materials Library), whose exhibition area is close by and where the materials used in this exhibition can be interpreted and explained.

“There is a fi rm foundation of social engagement within our occupational group”, says Julia Hertzman who, together with Tove Wallsten from Architects Sweden, has worked on this exhibition. “ ere is great in-terest among all interested parties for dialog and cooperation – not least among residents and the pupils of the schools of the future. ere is a strong focus on the overall picture.”
With the help of the architect/artist/de-signer collective ‘MYCKET’ (in English = A LOT), Architects Sweden has created an exhibition space where di erent approaches are used in order to attempt to illustrate this process. “We thought about which tools we could use and realized that the Swedish language contains a number of expressions which can be somewhat ambiguous: Gräsrotsrörelse
(lit. grassroots movement); Skogräns (shoes o , meaning a physical area beyond which shoes cannot be worn); Regelverk (lit. rule work, meaning rules/regulatory frame-work); Allemansrätt (lit. every man’s right, meaning the universal roamer’s right of public access to land); and Statsapparat (lit. state apparatus). We have actually exported some of these!”, explains Katarina Bonnevier, who has worked together with her MYCKET colleagues Ullis Ohlgren, Mariana Alves Silva and érèse Kristiansson.
These headings represent a common thread running throughout the exhibition. e installation itself, covering an area some-where in excess of 200 m2, shall provide a range of di erent environments and panora-mas. It shall be incredibly easy to get into – a cozy kind of place where everybody can be.
This exhibition highlights the hugely important issue
of how architecture can contribute to democracy, and aims to stimulate discussion around this topic. In Sweden, architects and social planners work with this issue in many di¡ erent ways. Interesting processes arise from our regulatory framework that can lead toward a common vision regarding how we can achieve a result that is benefi cial to everyone concerned. Social building processes must take many parameters into account: children, environment, infrastructure, etc.

“Esthetically maximized – more and more!” is how Katarina Bonnevier describes it. A total of 34 companies and institutions are contributing to the exhibition – rang-ing from small-scale architects’ o ces to Stockholm’s cultural center Kulturhuset. At its heart is a commission from the Swedish Institute, who will make the exhibition avail-able for international display by Swedish foreign missions. Following the visit to Stock-holm Furniture & Light Fair, a mobile version of the installation will be toured overseas – but the version of the exhibition at the fair will be unique.
“Among other things, visitors will be faced with a number of screens showing lms illustrating di erent projects with the theme ‘aiming for democratic architecture’,” explains Julia Hertzman. “It could be some form of a superhappening. Possibly work-shops. e overriding aim is to reach those who want to take a pause – to re ect, discuss, think and take a step back. We want it to be
thought-provoking and hopefully generate some insight.” “And I hope that people will react in di erent ways, and take with them thoughts that they perhaps hadn’t considered before,” adds Katarina Bonnevier. “ at is precisely the point!”

Paviljongen KärnhusetSuburbia in Sweden has since its creation been dominated by the nuclear family. However, new family constellations and new ways of living and working promote interest in alternative ways of cohabitation, and a reborn fascination for ruralisa-tion challenges the almighty urbanisation. Answer-ing to this condition Tidskriften Rum proposes, in collaboration with the architecture practice Hesselbrand, a platform for discussion – a housing model which allows the qualities of urban life to flourish in the suburbs, in the countryside, in the future. Experience it in 1:1 scale in the Rooms House pavilion, and learn more about the project in the book Past, Present, Future. Guided tours daily at 11 am and 3 pm. Welcome! AG:42
The opportunity to purchase selected exhibition items of the fair is greatly appreciated by many visitors, and the Pop-up Store is a popular attraction. This year, it is being run by Soraya Forsberg and Lisa Karlsson, who have been given the responsibility of assembling all the items being sold. Soraya has many years of experience of be-ing an interior designer and stylist in Stockholm, and has also run a vintage store in the capital. Lisa has worked within retail for a long time, and currently runs the uMe store in Umeå. “Our objective is to oµer a unique way of thinking, with consideration to the environment, and to weave everything together into one har-monious whole,” explain the girls. A tribute to everyday life by danishdesignMAKERSThe exhibition is inspired by the Danish poet Dan Turell's poem about the beauty of everyday routines - and partly a commentary on the extrav-agance that, on many fronts, characterises the design scene today. The organizer danishdesign MAKERS is an alliance of designers of diµerent nationalities and backgrounds, but all with strong ties to the Danish design culture. This year’s exhibition features designs from 22 designers, which fit into an everyday routine from their private lives. MAKERS believe design is foremost a practical subject and that it is best kept this way. AG:66
Guest Events & Exhibitions
Den Nya Kartan: HallandWhat can local manufacturers and designers achieve when they work together? The results are shown in the exhibition, Den Nya Kartan: Halland. The project was initiated by industrial designer and curator Jenny Nordberg to show that the global production map is starting to be redrawn. AG:77
Konst-ig, one of Scandinavia’s finest art, architecture and design book stores, and Danish contemporary design brand Muuto present a unique bookstore lounge in the entrance hall of the fair. Feel welcome to work, relax or shop from a wide range of interesting books. Would you like your book signed? Don’t miss the scheduled book signings with, amongst others, our Guest of Honour Paola Navone. EH:06

ns and activities
Design Studio Area is a platform dedicated to small-scale productions and one-o products. The aim is to promote diversity in the industry and to encourage designers’ own small-scale production lines.
Design Studio Area is located in thegallery next to Hall A and the East Entrance – an area vibrant with exhibitions and producers focused on the contract market/design for public spaces.
The exhibitors in Design Studio Area are primarily oriented toward design for public spaces.
The exhibitors are not selected by a jury. Everyone has had an equal opportunity for visibility with their own stand.
The area is open to all interested design studios through-out the world. In order to qualify as an exhibitor, design studios must have been active in the industry for at least three years.

Editors' Choice Award
Editors’ Choice AwardStockholm Furniture & Light Fair’s prize – the Editors’ Choice Award – is awarded at the fair every year. The jury consists of Editors-in-Chief from several of Europe’s most important design forums: Marcus Fairs (Dezeen), Donatella Bollani (Domus), Adeline Seidel (Stylepark) and Costas Voyatzis (Yatzer).
We have spoken to new jury-member Adeline Seidel – Chief Editor of the Frankfurt-based architecture and design magazine Stylepark – about what she is expecting from her role on the jury.
“I am very much looking forward to the Furniture Fair. It is the perfect size – including everything that is going on in the city center – and, as well as having intense discussions with designers and manufacturers, you actually have enough time to see all the new products, instead of just rushing from novelty to novelty. Being a member of the jury gives me
the chance to highlight the most interesting innovations among all the new products. And having a lively dis-cussion with the other editors, with all their di erent perspectives, is something that is very pleasant.”
Award ceremony – February 7, 15:00 in Victoria Hall.
The winners’ statue is designed by the Swedish designer, Lisa Hilland.

In order to design and develop products with lower environ-mental impact, we must have an overall perspective and responsibility, which includes nature, people and economy.
In the circular economy, we develop products with a long life span, made for a non-toxic environment, with reduced waste. A circular flow where products, components and materials can be reused, remanufactured and recycled, over and over again. We call it sustainable design.

Stockholm Design & Architecture Talks is celebrating its fifth anniversary by moving to a more central location in the Victoria Hall. In 2018, there will be five days featuring influential speakers, passionate panel discussions and some great inspiration – all combining to create an all-encompassing experience within design and architecture. This year’s theme is Visionary Thinking. Here are some of the speakers.
Detailed program and times at www.stockholmfurniturefair.com
Piet Hein Eek, designerPiet Hein Eek established his own studio in 1992 and built his business around the reuse of old materials. Eek’s creations are a reaction against the prevailing consumer demand for flawless, mass-produced furniture. He wants to show that objects created with obvious imperfections can be both attractive and functional. He achieves this by reversing modern production methods: beginning with abundant materials that have been discarded, and by using simple production meth-ods and investing as much labor as possible into the creative process, he makes pieces of furniture that are completely unique. To Eek, discarded, scarred wood has its own inherent beauty, and his wallpapers build on this esthetic by simply applying planks to paper.
Reiulf Ramstad, architect & founder of Reiulf Ramstad ArchitectsReiulf established Reiulf Ramstad Architects (RRA) in 1995 with the aim of creating an architectural practice that would turn conceptual research and practical knowledge into driving forces for sustainable

design. RRA has earned a reputation for innovative architecture and for rejecting standardized solutions. RRA is an independent Oslo-based architectural firm with a strong conceptual approach. Over the years, RRA has produced a wide range of innovative and ground-breaking projects. It has earned a rep-utation for creating bold, simple architecture with a strong connection to the Scandinavian context.
Chris Precht, architect & founder of PendaIn 2013, Chris Precht and Dayong Sun founded Penda with the philosophy that architecture can serve as a bridge that connects nature, culture and people to facilitate a better quality of living. By drawing on diµerent perspectives from western and eastern architectural history, Penda seeks the fundamentals in architecture.
Reinier de Graaf, architect and partner OMA, in discussion about his new book Four Walls and a RoofArchitecture, we like to believe, is an elevated art form that shapes the world as it pleases. Four
Walls and a Roof challenges this notion, presenting a candid account of what it is really like to work as an architect. De Graaf shares his views on the complexities of architecture’s relationship with developers, pol-iticians, bureaucrats, and consult-ants, as well as his own tragicomic experiences in the field, from suburban New York to the rubble of northern Iraq.
INSIDE - a discussion with Åke Axelsson, Jonas Bohlin and Mats TheseliusAt the fair, a discussion will be moderated by Sune Nordgren on the possibilities of interiors to create inspiring or relaxing, comfortable or challenging, surprising or welcoming envi-ronments for everyone. The INSIDE exhibition will be open February 3 – March 11 at the Royal Academy of the Fine Arts and features three of the country’s leading interior architects: Åke Axelsson, Jonas Bohlin and Mats Theselius. They will display their top designs for a full range of in-teriors as well as some of their most iconic furniture.
Fran Edgerley & James Binning from Assemble, LondonThe Turner Prize-winning architecture collec-tive Assemble is based in London and works across the fields of art, architecture and design. Assemble’s working practice seeks to address the typical disconnection between the public and the process by which places are made.
Bridging the gap – from design student to professional designerA discussion with designers Jens Fager, Ulrika Ståhl Johansson, Managing Director Lammhults and Vera Kleppe and Åshild Kyte, Vera & Kyte, about the process from being a student to becoming a professional designer. What is expected of a professional designer today, and how can you, as a student, prepare yourself for the professional world?

For Stockholm Furniture Fair 2018 we asked the Swedish design studio Note to interpret the design potentials of our materials and create an innovative and welcoming space to explore.
The idea is to use iconic structures in an inspiring color palette that turn our materials into a space full of personality, opening up a new vision of possibilities offered by our world of flooring.
