Activities included: Mapping & managing invasive plants Sampling macroinvertebrates Trail and river clean-ups A public presentation Participants learned from professionals about park management, local history, and using drones for environmental mapping Special thanks to Danbury High School, the Northwest Conservation District and the Town of Brookfield! Spring 2016: 50 students from Dan- bury High School in- stalled 300+ native plants at the Brookfield Greenway Local environmental professionals provid- ed education on plant ID, soil science and project management Special thanks to DYS, the Still River Alliance Commission of Danbury, and Flying Saucer Solutions!

So far this year:

Youth learned from environmental professionals about constructing wetlands, using drones for environmental mapping, managing state and local parks, and more!

Summer 2016:

4 crew members employed through Danbury Youth Services worked at the Still River Green-way in Danbury. Activities included:

Mapping & managing invasive plants

Sampling macroinvertebrates

Trail and river clean-ups

A public presentation

Participants learned from professionals about park management, local history, and using drones for environmental mapping

16 students from the Alternative Center for Excellence in Danbury learned about watershed management and buffers

Planted and mapped over 50 native trees and shrubs at Lake Kenosia Beach in Danbury

Environmental expertise provided by HVA, the Still River Alliance Commission of Danbury and First Light Power Resources
