Still Life Directions You are your group members will be creating “still life” photographs

of two important scenes from the novel, The Children of Willesden Lane.

Each scene will need its own appropriate background complete with color, and each group member will need at least two props or costume articles that specifically represent his or her character.

On the day of the presentation, your group will hang the appropriate backgrounds in order of scenes to be presented (last scene’s background at the back). The lights will be turned off, and your group will arrange in a still life photo representing the scene. When the lights come on, the narrator of the group will tell which scene it is and explain the importance of it.

Following that, each member of the group will explain his or her characters’ thoughts and/or feelings during this time in the novel.

The lights will go off, and the narrator will change the background while the actors rearrange themselves (props/costumes included) into the next photograph.
