The injector head is the heart of the Stewart & Stevenson coiled tubing system.

M Series injectors from Stewart & Stevenson have the highest pull-to-weight ratio in the industry. The industry leading traction and drive technology of the Stewart & Stevenson injector makes it a favorite of coiled tubing service companies.

The new D Series injector heads from Stewart & Stevenson are designed around the applications of logging, drilling and fractur-ing with coiled tubing. The D Series injector design features an advanced “floating” traction system, automatic tensioning, supe-rior slow speed control and capability to handle up to 4.5-inch coiled tubing.

Stewart & Stevenson offers complete coiled tubing systems or individual components. Already a market leader in manufacturing injector heads for coiled tubing drilling applications, Stewart & Stevenson also can build coiled tubing rigs to client specifications.

Stewart & Stevenson® has provided coiled tubing systems to the oilfield service industry since 1989. Renowned for being reliable,

rugged, light weight, and user friendly, Stewart & Stevenson’s coiled tubing units are custom designed for specific applications

and are mounted on the client-preferred carrier type: truck, trailer, or skid.

Coiled Tubing Unit ConfigurationsStewart & Stevenson’s coiled tubing units are configured in skid mounted, trailer mounted and truck mounted versions for “fit-for-pur-pose” onshore and offshore use.

Pressure control equipment, in single, combi double or quad solid unibody construction, is available in .06-inch through 7.06-inch sizes for working pressures up to 15,000 psi for HS service. Work reels and injectors for tubing sizes from one inch to 4.5 inches and depths to 5,000 feet are available.

Land Coiled Tubing Units• Trailer Mounted

• With crane• Without crane

High capacity trailerized coiled tubing units carry up to 1,000 feet of 1.75-inch coiled tubing or up to 15,000 feet of -inch coiled tubing, and utilizes injector heads from 40,000 lb pull capacity up to 100,000 lb pull capacity. It comes with the Stewart & Stevenson quick core change-out reel system, which allows the end user to change pipe sizes without unnecessary spooling and unspooling of tubing from the drums, and a choice of a stand-alone diesel hybrid power pack or a wet kit style power pack.

• Truck Mounted Units• Bobtail with crane• -piece unit

A variety of truck manufacturers may be utilized to suit customer needs and operating conditions. Coiled tubing units are designed to fit the chosen chassis. Truck CTUs can be provided with or without inte-gral boom crane.

• Mast styleAPI certified masts can be integrated into the CTU for quick and safe rig up. Masts can reduce the rig up time to 45 minutes or less. Varying mast ratings and rig up heights are available.

Offshore Coiled Tubing Units• Space saver (combined cabin and power unit)• Split skid design (separate cabin skid and power unit skid)

Stewart & Stevenson’s offshore units consist of skidded and container-ized equipment suitable for use on offshore platforms or on purpose-built well intervention vessels. Units are split into multiple skids/lifts. The control cabin and power pack can be combined into a single skid/lift for faster rig up.

Coiled Tubing ReelsStewart & Stevenson makes reels in many sizes to fit any applica-tion. Reels can be made to be compatible with other manufacturer’s hydraulic systems. Stewart & Stevenson uses high torque, high speed motors to keep up with today’s tripping speeds. Bearing systems use steel roller and tapered roller bearings for smooth, efficient operation under the heaviest loads. Stewart & Stevenson reels exclusively use the FMC coiled tubing swivel joint.

Quick Core Changeout SystemsStewart & Stevenson’s innovative new quick-core changeout system allows service providers to quickly change between coiled tubing sizes to meet job demands. A quick, easy three-step process removes the reel from the trailer or skid and the same three-steps are used to install a new drum of coil into the unit. The time it takes to change pipe sizes has been reduced from a half day to little more than one hour.

Drilling and Masted Coiled Tubing Rigs

Hybrid Coiled Tubing Drilling Rigs

Stewart & Stevenson manufactures fit-for-purpose hybrid coiled tubing drilling units, which can be used to drill with coiled tubing or conventional drill pipe. Drilling with coil can decrease the time it takes to drill a well because of continuous tubing technology. Coiled tubing can also be snubbed into a well for drilling in underbalanced condi-tions where necessary, providing an advantage over conventional rigs. Hybrid rigs allow drillers to use a single unit from surface hole to TD.

Coiled Tubing Drilling Rigs

Stewart & Stevenson designs rigs that drill with coil for mainhole drill-ing and horizontal directional drilling.
