“We’re On A Mission From God”

Paul and Barnabas were on a mission from God

Acts 13 v 2 – 3:

“While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas

and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off.”

•Have you encountered Jesus?

•Have you understood the implications?

•Are you (and your family) living as though you are on a mission from God?

•Are you part of the mission…

… or do you just turn up to get blessed?

•What publicity should we be doing to launch Grace Church in Bognor Regis, and when?

•What community/interchurch involvement should we have, and when?

•What about premises?

•Where about serving?

“We’re On A Mission From God”

Our mission is NOT …

•To have good worship times

•To have great teaching

•To have a great building

Do you agree that these things are not the mission?

“I left the church 5 months ago, after taking 6 weeks to reflect on whether I should leave and to listen to God's direction.

I felt like I was not growing or serving.

Within those 6 weeks no one reached out to me in any form.

Since it was not my intention to leave, I had to go church shopping.

I was shocked at how little attention we pay to our in-house wanderers.

It still concerns me that no one cared enough to ask why I was 'missing' from church.”

To make God known and increase his glory …

… by preaching the gospel of Jesus …

… keeping in step with the Holy Spirit …

… enduring through hardships …

… and building the local church
