• Means:– Final decorative stone placed on a structure– Crowning achievement– Culmination

– Student-designed and initiated– Pursued over the span of a year– Experiential, developmental process– Goal:

To create a meaningful and significant contribution to the community

Your future career goals

When?

– You develop your capstone project by the end of your practicum semester.

Who?

– Main people involved:• Your practicum professor• Your advisor

– And possibly these people:• Your site supervisor• A faculty mentor• A professional mentor (working in the field)• Schools/community agencies in need

Where?

– Once you finish your project, you will present it to your peers, families, and community on the day you defend your portfolio.

How?

– Stetson students have completed a wide variety of projects including:• Writing an article for publication• Presenting at a local/national conference• Developing and launching a psychoeducational website• Participating in community advocacy• Developing and delivering a workshop to a community

in need – Clients– Professionals/agencies in need of professional development
