The unit consists of three nos. S.S. tray 150 x 150 x 25 mm enclosed in a chamber provided with a glass window with online weighing for one of the tray. The chamber is provided with inlet and outlet for air.

½ HP blower with airline provided with inline heating arrangement with temperature indicator controller.

Orifice meter with manometer to measure the flow rate of air

Wet bulb and Dry bulb Thermometers are provided at air inlet and outlet of chamber.

Digital Weighing Scale for online weighing of sample with stopwatch while experimentation.

16) Adsorption in Silica Gel

Specifications:

½ HP blower with air line and rotameter connected to bottom of first column and outlet from top of 1st column goes to bottom of second column and air leaves from top the second column

17) Humidification and Dehumidification

Specification:

Unit consists of two nos. glass columns 3” dia. 1000mm long

Column no. one.(Humidification) filled with racing ring and column no. two (Dehumidification)with silica gel.

Feed tank made of SS 50-litre capacity with pump,.

½ HP blowers with air line and rotameter connected to bottom of first column and outlet from top of 1st column goes to bottom of second column and air leaves from top the second column

Individual Rotameters for air and water at inlet

Water is sprayed from the top of the first column.

Specifications:

A helical coil 150mm diameter x 20 turns made from ¼” metal tubing with pressure taps at different locations

2) Two Phase Flow through Pipe Unit

Specifications:

Horizontal pipe, glass 1” I.D x 1000 mm long with pressure taping and gas/liquid distributor.

FHP re-circulation pump.

Mechanical Operations Lab

1) Ball Mill

Specifications:

Horizontal cylindrical tank 300 mm diameter x 300 mm length made of 10 mm thick M.S sheet rotating at a slow speed.

1/2 HP motor and gear reduction system.

½” diameter balls of about 5 Kg and hopper is also provided at outlet and inlet.

Complete unit mounted on a rigid MS structure 2) Cyclone Separator

Specifications:

A cyclone separator made in glass with cylindrical portion 6” diameter,150 mm height, tapering to 40 mm diameter in 200 mm length with 40 mm tangential entry for gas solid mixture.(Approx dimension)

Blower 1/2 HP with outlet connected to closed drum containing powder to be conveyed to cyclone,/Bag for collecting powder.

Pressure tapping at suitable locations with manometer.


3) Leaf filter

Specifications:

A leaf made of copper tube 1/4” dia rounded in 6” dia with tubing connected to vacuum system with fine holes inside the rounded tube and covered on both sides by a suitable filter cloth.

Slurry tank about 50 liter capacity fiber lined from inside with agitator to keep slurry in suspension.

Filtrate Collection tank of 10 liter capacity made of glass with level indicator to measure the filtrate collected.

Vacuum pump of suitable capacity to suck the liquid from slurry tank and collect the clear filtrate in the filtrate collection tank.


4) Plate and Frame Filter Press

Specifications:

A plate and frame filter unit comprising of 9 Nos. plates of 9”x 9” size made of C.I./Polypropylene

Slurry tank with agitator to keep slurry in suspension.

Feed pump to the filter press and pipeline arrangement.

Collection tank for filtrate.






Process Control and Instrumentation Lab

1) Interacting and Non-Interacting Tanks In Series

Specifications:

Unit consists of 2 Nos. S.S tanks of size 250mm dia. & 400 mm height acting in interacting & non-interacting mode equipped with graduated level indicators.

Water feed tank 80 liter capacity (S.S) with circulating water pump FHP.

Complete recirculating unit.


2) Dynamics of Second Order System

Specifications:

Three Nos. Glass U-tube manometer made in glass with I.D. 6mm, 4mm & 2mm and height 100 cm each

Rubber bulb is provided to give step change.


1) Time Constant of Thermometer

Specifications:

Unit consist of SS tank with stirrer10 lit capacity with provision for inserting thermometer in tank.

Thermocouple with provision for installing in tank.

Chemical Reaction Engineering Lab

1) Continuous Stirrer Tank Reactor
